  1. These early round draws are some of the toughest I’ve seen to date. So many top and former top players are already playing each other. The depth in the game is looking mighty good right now.

  2. The biggest asset that has re-emerged is her fitness. She moved into position and was able to respond effectively. Previously, she just gave up on that strategy. Her shots were too fast for Muchova to be in ready mode more than one would have expected.

  3. I think she could upset Aryna because she thrives in that kinda of matchup but Coco is going to be a major undertaking 😬

  4. This should be the end of the Muchova nonsensical hype. At this point she is probably the most overrated player in tennis history. 28 y/o and only one 250 title to her name is laughable. Fans have crucified players who have achieved far, far more.

  5. probably the worst I've ever seen K.M. play – She couldn't make a serve , usually pretty good, 60 % + with some aces. oh well – Q. Zheng lost. Swiatek lost the olympics on clay last year. it's sports. Still. K.M. should be winning some tournaments, somehow never does…..

  6. love you AO highlights editing crew — fast and clean and always delightful. And idgaf about the thumbnails, you do you. thank you and hello from Oakland, California

  7. Muchova is such a dangerous player. After the 1st set, thought she would finish it easily in 2. What a turnaround match for Nayhomie Oslacker. Amazing comeback.

  8. Her talent and ability was never the problem. As long as she stays in shape, doesn’t listen to the haters and believes in herself. She can do anything. Good for her.

  9. Hi Naomi, you have to train leg work with Steffi Graf, Motarogolu wont help you on physical training, he is not the right coach for you.

  10. What is the probability of having the same top players facing each other in TWO consecutive grand slams and in the SAME R2? Ask Math experts and they will tell you it's a slim chance of (128 – 32 seeds = 96): 1/96 = 1.04% chance of Kája getting osaka again and this has not factored in appearing in the SAME round in 2 CONSECUTIVE grand slams.

I honestly do not think the draw is random after putting the 32 seeds in place and adding the remaining 96 players.

The strong players tend to meet again and again. The pitiful one is sofia Kenin who got iga and coco in R1 of grand slams. Then there was this match in China in 2024 where mirra had to play against her sister Erika.
It's easy for computer programs to do the job with the objective of selling tickets.
Would appreciate comments from all of you. I have observed the draws for many years and R1 matchups are definitely not random.
    Anyone cares to share?
Kája meeting osaka in the SAME R2 of 2 CONSECUTIVE grand slams? A big joke to say the least.

  11. This is typical women’s Tenis ….. u win a first set easy then lost it women’s Tenis is a joke

  12. Naomi reminded everybody with those power shots who she actually is… a power player with four hardcourt slams in her back. Sure, being a mother may have taken a toll on her game, but she still got it! Don't know whether she can keep it up though. Her draw is tough, with Bencic being next…

  13. Naomi is striking the ball beautifully. Terrifying for opponents who don't know to which side to play her. Judging from the highlights, the second serve is a bit timid…should try to clean that up. Amazing tennis Naomi.

  14. Muchova has been outperforming even top 10 players since US Open, so this win by Osaka is actually HUGE!!!!

Osaka still does not seem to be as fast and as strong as her Grand Slam champion form like before, but she seems to be playing smarter tennis since beg this year.

Very exciting to see how far she can go!!!
