I loved this op for reading leaning into the comic book element of the show (finally) but it became downright funny to transition from dark, tense, and serious scenes in later episodes into that light and colorful song, so it well earns those two wins
Honestly one of the best seasons out there. Its also not getting shy to kill off heroes too

1:13:00 I kinda disagree with you regarding Deku's speech to Dabi. It definitely failed in my opinion because it was basically implying that because Endeavour wants to change, Dabi is wrong in his revenge. Not that I think Deku had any bad intention, if course. Also, it's about interpretation ^^

Just so you know, that first 3rd of the OP isn’t a Manga art style, it’s an Early American Superhero Comic Book art style, which is even more fitting, considering the Manga author was heavily inspired by American Superheroes like Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Hulk, and so on…
He even admitted that this War Arc was heavily inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers: Infinity War

When I first saw episode 9 I was like WHAT WHY DOES DEKU LOOK SO DANG SCARY then I remembered one of the three things all wise men fear which is the anger of a gentle man which honestly go perfectly with how izuku keeps getting more and more rage towards shigarki and I am positive that this could greatly change what deku is going to do because we all know how he does not care for his own safety when it comes to helping people who need it.
Season 5 may have been all set up and I defend even the strange aspects like the arc switch not being narratively damaging. But it all lead to this and I could not be happier they are doing this arc justice. I have had nothing but a blast watching, theorizing, and actively making notes on this arc as it goes. It’s true I wish to every god out there people had a better memory span for such a detailed show, but I’ll happily take that people are enjoying MHA more than ever. It’s earned it’s keep as a truly fantastic anime.

Two quick things, firstly I'm uploading this today Friday 23rd of December 2022 instead of Saturday as that's Christmas eve, so wanted people to get to watch this outside of the holidays. Secondly I very much hope you enjoy the video, I had SUCH a blast covering the first half so far and for it's genuinely the greatest start to a My Hero Academia season yet, I think they've done an absolutely fantastic job so far and I cannot wait to watch and cover the second half! Okay, so this is my 2nd Comment, and it’s on Episode 9, but I’m loving the elements of the Movies the Anime is adapting, as they were also in the Manga too, and the Mangaka has already said he considers everything Canon apart from the Parody Manga, and it’s nice that those connections are becoming more obvious here, with Shigaraki using the same Shield Quirk against Endeavor that Nine used against Deku in the 2nd movie, and later with Gran Torino’s flashback of All Might containing 3rd OVA footage & 1st Movie footage, this will of course escalate, which will basically bring this Anime away from being a standalone thing, and make it more of a connected Franchise, even the 1st user’s statement in Episode 10 of choosing to remain within Deku, adds an explanation to the ending of the 2nd movie, god, I love the connection here

Season 6 MHA ending is truly an emotional moment and for each special ending, from Twice’s death to the Toya reveal.

Shigaraki is one of the most boring villians i have ever seen in anime/manga at this point.
The previous season of BNH made me drop it for good but I still watch your videos to keep up, Thanks for the summary and all the effort you put in!!
I honestly think this season has been crazy overhyped. The animation is just decent and the characters have really fallen off in interest for me. The animation wouldn't be a big problem if this wasnt a season of just battles pretty much. It's just very average. This is all coming from a person who loved the first 4 seasons.

didn't realize until the end that this episode was an hour long holy smokes!!!
I loved every episode except for episode 9 with Deku's major fight with shigaraki. His attacks really didn't have alot of impact in some scenes and there were a lot of still frames. The fight wasn't bad but I was hoping for endeavor vs high end Nomu levels of animation at least.

It's so nice seeing all the praise. I have made the mistake of browsing through Twitter and seeing some scenes getting backlash because they are not 1:1 as in the manga. Or don't look as epic and such.
I've been enjoying this season so much, despite me not liking war arcs. Shiggy looks so good, love that design. Bakubabe has some great development too.
I can't even say anything to Dabi, he's my best crispy boi. And Midoriya going all out is always fun to see. The fight against Makiha was great too. Gave me chills in the manga and gave me chills in the anime. I love it when they work together.
