  1. So the answer is arrrrr arrrr arrr are puting local subtitles on a japanease release?

I personaly stoped buying german DVDs when i grabed an anime movie and it had german Frensh and Turkish voicetracks but no Japanease. You dont cater to what people want and they put there money elseware and german versions were about 2 times plus more expenceive at that time compared to and english dub/sub..

  2. Chiming in as an economics nerd… Piracy does affect demand and the anime industry does, in fact, pay attention to that, just as any industry does, even if not directly. So every person who watches a pirated episode contributes to an increase in demand, and that affects the price and supply, as those things are objectively tied to demand. It's the entrepreneur's job to interpret the demand and supply the good or service to meet it (in such a way that they gain money rather than lose it). Censoring or allowing looocalizers have control over their products means smaller revenue for themselves because the market speaks, and it says we don't want that garbage. If they're not aware of this soft boycott yet, they will be, increasingly.
