  1. Man, this just reminds me of the times when my mom would still make me go to school even when i was running a high fever. The only time i got to stay and rest at home was whenever I’d get sick on weekends.

  2. 2:14 if someone ever said something like this to me in kindergarten, I really don't know what I would say, I was too busy practicing telling the teacher

  3. I first wondered why his eyes were drawn that way, then realized that he's a kid who've been through a lot of harshness in different ways. Somehow, he's more mature and less of a 'kid', his childhood seems to be projecting towards practicality rather than being free which all kids should get.

I think the eyes imply that he's been through a lot and it distorted his perception about himself. He must be who he'd want to have and show it to others, because that's what he wished he has. It's like savior complex.

Man, I haven't watched this anime fully yet, but I think I'll shed a tear.

  4. The way Kotaro grabbed the curtain! It's so sad, I am dying 😭😭😭
Kids should be allowed to be weak, they are weak. Please hug your child!

  5. Bruh kotaros parents better stop going around cutting onions while im watching this

  6. I think the message is that admitting your weak does not prove you are weak instead it proves that you are strong or something like that

  7. 2:24 dang looks like Kotaro isn’t the only 4 year old prodigy 😆 most kids that age would be running around wiping their boogers on others, not selflessly facing a damaged reputation to protect them

  8. In kotaros view getting a fever while being homeless and starving would be a death warrant knowing you dont have anyone to take care of you especially if you are young.

  9. I thought the message here is to learn from each other than be single minded on your own beliefs. Interesting to see other people POV

  10. Yeah. This is the best thing on Netflix right now (aside from Way of the Househusband, Violet Evergarden, Kenan & Kel, and all things Spider-Man).

  11. Ok i'm starting to think Kotaro is an Isekai'd adult from another world- he is seriously way more mature than most 4 year olds are supposed to be and way more intelligent!

  12. It’s one of the signs the abuse he gets from his father. Maybe when he feel not ok his father will verbally and emotionally abuse him telling him that boys should not be weak, etc.

It was also implied in the “bike” thing where he can’t learn how to ride it quick and his father verbally attack him and left him there alone. I think his father do cares for him but his short patience can cause him to ve very abusive towards the people around him, including his own child.
