The CGI Godzilla looks like a guy in a suite because they used motion capture. So, you could say it is the CGI equivalent of a man in a suite. There's a making of showing in Japan right now. I was hoping to see Godzilla Minus One in Japan while I was there last week (some amazing theater options there) but never got the time.

I've gone to the theater twice in the last four years. This is the only movie that made me glad I did so and I plan to go see it again.
Who else thinks the reason Godzilla is pink in Godzilla x Kong is because it's actually a girl Godzilla? My theory is that "our" Godzilla will be killed early in the movie and replaced by a new female Godzilla who is better, faster, stronger, etc, and that's who we see teaming up with King Kong. OR even worse !! Godzilla changes sex!! There'll be a line like "certain frogs can change their sex" and then someone will be like "not just frogs" and it'll show the pink spines. It's so bad I bet it'll happen.

I JUST WATCHED GODZILLA MINUS ONE IN 4DX WITH MY DAUGHTER WHO HATES "WAR TIME MOVIES" AND EVEN SHE GAVE THE MOVIE A 9 OUT OF 10!! I THINK IT'S THE BEST MOVIE THIS YEAR AND ONE OF THE TOP 5 KAIJU FILMS OF ALL TIME!

LOVED the movie. LOVED Godzilla just swimming behind that little wooden boat in the ocean just staring them. He looked scary as hell…. and IN THE DAY LIGHT TOO!
I saw this movie the other day, and I never thought I’d cry. It was that good
I just saw it tonight at 10:30pm on a Wednesday night and the theater was about 50% full, which is amazing when you think about it. The word is out and people are making the effort to see it in a theatre. If you can see it in a Dolby theatre, do it. It’s worth it. Amazing film.
G-1 is cgi, it's not practical fx. The overly long takes of godzilla walking stiff or the one in the trailer when it swims on the surface with a blank stare is all homage to the guy in the suit of the past.

Holy Crap, never heard anything about this movie coming out and i get to watch it in the movie theaters!?!? Hell yeah, haven't been to the theater in YEARS and the big man himself has always been loved since i was a child. During a nuclear test a Japanese fishing boat was caught by the bomb an crew was poisoned. This caused outrage in Japan.
The original movie had Godzilla hunting the men from that boat, killing them one by one as radiation does. The antinuclear message was censored in USA and heavy editing and changes in dubbing made it just another monster movie in USA. It was way worse than the level of censorship people blame on China today.
It had a strong antinuclear message that was deleted.
