This is GLORIOUS my friends! Behold the ultimate FU to Hollywood as Japan moves in, stomps their studios, and eats their lunch! As Hollywood continues to decline, Japan is making history at the US Box Office by occupying two of the top 3 spots in the list of top 10 highest grossing films! This has NEVER happened before, and this holiday season people are shunning the traditional holiday releases from major US studios in favor of a giant monster movie and anime! What does this mean for Hollywood’s future? That’s what we discuss in this video! #godzillaminusone #godzilla #studioghibli

  1. Why hasn't a studio picked up the rights to the John Varley "GAEA" trilogy? GREAT science fiction from the early 80's with a very strong female lead.
We are all sick of the same tripe over and over.

  2. Saw this in the theater Wednesday. It was great. Loving this era of Godzilla. Heisei still my favorite but I like what's coming out

  3. Been enjoying Godzilla films since the late 1960s, and this is the best EVER! Gojira rules the box office. Take that, Hollywood!

  4. Great to see Japanese movies & TV series doing so well. The storytelling, characterizations and even the soundtracks tend to be better than what the big Hollywood studios are turning out. And it's not just Japan kicking butt. I've seen more Indian movies, this year, than current Hollywood releases. (I recently watched both parts of Bahubali, again, and enjoyed them even more, the 2nd time.) Looking forward to the latest Godzilla and Ghibli stories.

Overall, the competition for attention has never been more wide open with movies & TV shows from around the world readily available. Hollywood needs more well-written releases like Dreamworks' "Puss in Boots: The Last Wish," to stay in the game. Disney's present approach is doomed to fail.

  5. This movie cost $15 million? Disney would kill just to have any one of their movies actually make that much in profit.

  6. Nothing could be worse than that Apple+ crap. It's almost as bad as what they did to Asimov. Ok maybe not that bad.

  7. Legit, some people (who also call themselves "movie reviewers/experts") claim that Godzilla franchise in general since it has "political messaging" (about the dangers of nukes or whatever), that therefore this latest installment has political messaging, and this makes it "political"/"woke".

  8. Someone once commented that Disney shows us dreams and Ghibli shows us memories.

    Back to those days Disney.

  9. $59m (Godzilla) and $104m (Heron) worldwide is "kicking" nothing. They may have high positions on the current chart, but they've got a long way to go to get to even collectively match The Marvels.

And GODZILLA IS A WOKE MOVIE. There's an early scene where TWO female characters berate the male hero for thinking that he can provide for a baby that someone left behind and alone amongst the war rubble. **WOKE GARBAGE**

  10. Doomcock, have a look at movie, The Family Plan. Found it really funny and very underrated regardless some woke-light moments. Truly a movie pulled from the 90s, with both comedy and action.

  11. American media: We have a checklist for your characters and storyline
Japanese media: We need you to make your characters interesting and your storyline entertaining.

  12. Japan is next in targeting. There will be hostile takeovers from American corporations, and the culture is already flooding with blue hairs.

  13. Huh? I might go back to the theaters for these two movies, after about 17 years of not seeing anything I would care too see coming out of hellywood. That right I've not been to a theater in 17 years at least. F hellywood!

  14. Godzilla is a quality movie. It hit right on the story, characters, visuals and music.

  15. As long as I have South Korea and Japan, ALL of my media needs are met with a HIGH satisfaction score! 🙌🏾

  16. Americans would rather spend two hours reading a caption than watching anything Disney sharts onto the big screen in English.
