I never really got into Fate back in the day, and now I feel it’s too late for me. I do enjoy what I know of the story and the characters, though.
They do indeed do something cool with Flat later.
This isn't Fate/Zero. The tone is different. So throw that expectations away or you'll be disappointed.

I didn't really watch it, just skipped through it and the artsyle is meh / not for me, the cinematography and direction are atrocious, the color pallete is off-putting, the character designs are boring – literally everything about this not even "mid".

I didn't associate the heroic spirits with their classes, while I was watching, but the strange mist being the rider class would make sense then.
When Gilgamesh and the nature-guy fought they suddenly stopped and Gil said something along the lines of "seems like we're being interrupted by something akin to the curse of death".
So my guess is, that Tsubaki's Servant is potentially Death itself. the pale rider. That would also fit the theme of her being incurably ill and fated to die.

i have high hopes for this, baccano and durarara were 2 of my favorites, the way narita writes might not be for everyone but i can't tell you enough how much i love it
FGO will always be the ideal, why have one servant when you can have an army of servants with the Chaldea system? I get this is a smaller prequal before circa 2014 end of the world, but to recent mobile people its just sort of a downgrade.
Don't worry about Jack being a loli, that one is Assassin Jack, this Berserker Jack is reaaaaaally different.
Apo Jack and SF Jack are 2 different entities.
Without spoiling much , you can just think of Apo Jack as Kamen Rider Kuuga and SF Jack is Kamen Rider Decade.

Tsubaki pretty much got the short end of the stick in this special. There's more to her story than what was shown. But in regards to this, mages desire to have good descendants to pass down their Magicl Crests so they can continue the family magic research. Basically, the parents care more for their daughter to be breedable so she can produce an heir for them in the future. They didn't care that she was in a coma, and it was their doing in the first place as they experimented on her actually.
MY fave masters in this is the kid with pale rider. I can expect tragic crap as always but this just gonna be fun times all around~ caster is op and can summon NP but all of em are op tbh
Assassin's master is a True Ancestor right? Chill-zerker is best-zerker but the master can go die in a cliff. Tsibaki's parents are douche bags that deserve to die. Tsubaki is best gal I hope she survives somehow. Did not read FSF all the way through but well one can hope. The guy at the end is Zeltretch right I am open to corrections though

It seems that many plot points aren't clear seeing all the confusion, shame they rush it that much.
That "old hag" is one of the craziest Fate character, she could make Gilles the Caster from Fate Zero run for his money. The only difference is Gilles is crazily insane while the "old hag" is just crazily crazy.
Killing a Master to steal their Command Spells and take their spot as Master is not unheard of. Without giving enough detail to go into spoiler territory, it actually happened twice in Fate/Stay Night.
here's a heads up.. Flat may sound carefree but that's only because he knows that nothing could be threat to him.. and he may act like a goofball.. but he will Kill ANYONE if he has to.

For me it's in the same level of Zero and Heaven's Feel.

They are the babies of prostitutes (the target of Jack the Rippers murders) which were killed on mass at the time of Jack the Ripper.
