Charlotte defeated a Power 5 football team in Charlotte for the first time in school history with a 31-28 win over Duke. Chris Reynolds hit Shadrick Byrd for an 11-yard touchdown with 33 seconds left in the game to put the 49ers ahead for good in a fourth quarter that saw four lead changes. Gunnar Holmberg completed 20 of 29 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown in his first career start for the Blue Devils. Running back Mataeo Durant set Duke’s single-game rushing record with 255 yards on 29 carries and had three touchdowns. Durant also had two catches for 49 yards.
