Canadian troops are on the ground helping with rescue efforts in Western Canada, where about 18,000 people have been stranded by flood waters
The rains and mudslides have wrecked roads, bridges and railway lines and several towns remain cut off in the province of British Columbia.
Officials say they expect this to be the costliest natural disaster in Canadian history.
After this summer’s wildfires, scientists say these extreme weather patterns are caused by climate change.
