While there are multiple videos for the English theme, I didn’t spot a single one that had the original Japanese song WITHOUT the wind sound effects from the beginning of the movie. Since the song is played again during the end credits, ripping it was a piece of cake.

For those who haven’t seen it, “Ringing Bell” or “Chirin no Suzu” is a rather short anime film (47 min) dating back to the year 1978. It tells the story of a young lamb named Chirin and his quest for vengeance after a wolf kills his mother. The first 10 minutes of the movie may make it seem like your average family film, but trust me, that definitely isn’t the case with this obscure little gem…

Ringing Bell was dubbed in English and released on VHS tape in the U.S. in 1983. While I personally prefer the original Japanese version due to its superior songs and silent moments ( the dubbed version had narrator talking over them at times), I must admit that the English dub sounded pretty good, especially when you consider how old it is.

The movie was recently released on DVD in 2014 http://www.amazon.com/Ringing-Bell-Artist-Not-Provided/dp/B00JV054BA and this edition features BOTH the original and the dub tracks, so you’re free to choose the one prefer for your viewing 🙂 .
