王貞治会長が理事長を務める世界少年野球推進財団（WCBF）の主催で「第30回世界少年野球大会」が福岡県内で行われました。

8月4日には「王貞治ベースボールミュージアム」とみずほPayPayドームでの試合に関係者を含む約700人をご招待。接戦の末の劇的なサヨナラ勝ちに、子どもたちはスタンドを埋め尽くした大観衆とともに大盛り上がりでした。

「野球はみんなが参加できる競技。みんながヒーローになるチャンスがあるスポーツです」と王会長に世界少年野球推進財団設立のいきさつや野球振興についての想いを語っていただきました。

Synopsis:

The 30th World Children’s Baseball Fair, organized by the World Children’s Baseball Foundation (WCBF) chaired by Sadaharu Oh, was hosted in Fukuoka Prefecture.

On August 4, nearly 700 people, including participants, were invited to the Oh Sadaharu Baseball Museum and a game at Mizuho PayPay Dome. A close game with a dramatic walk-off home run thrilled the children as well as the packed crowd.

“Baseball is a sport everyone can participate in. It’s a sport where everyone has the chance to be a hero,” says Chairman Oh, who shares the origin story behind creating the WCBF as well as his thoughts on promoting baseball.
