With the rapidly approaching release of Horizon Zero Dawn’s highly anticipated sequel – Forbidden West – I decided to dive back into the game which started it all. This was originally a Playstation 4 exclusive title, but it’s now available on PC as well. I already own the game for PS4 but I decided to buy another copy of the Complete Edition on Steam, which includes the Frozen Wilds DLC along with the base game.

  1. Thank you for this review. Your points are spot on. I started playing this game recently, and I love it's story to bits, even though it might be the greatest ever done..

  2. Boo…… make a video about HZD and keep showing that fugly s..t head they put in the sequel.

  3. I just finished it for the first time, just haven’t gotten to it but finally have. I really enjoyed it, the combat is phenomenal and so much fun. The lore and parts of the story are done really well. Just for me most of the characters were lackluster and didn’t find myself caring. But when it’s aloy and the discovering of why things are the way they are is great.

  4. I knew nothing about this game, but last month one of my friends (who usually hates anything that's not an Indie game) told me he was loving this game. In the first hour, this game had a special place in my heart already and I knew I would love it. After I beat the game, I bought Forbidden West and it's one of my favorite games of all time.

  5. been thinking about picking this up on pc cause im eagerly awaiting forbidden west but would like to play through the 1st game at least once

  6. This game is a 8 out of 10.

Graphics, sound, caracters, A ok but the levelling system, along with confusing item values and limited backpack is a pain in the ass.
You always stressed out you leave things missed, left behind huge areas before continue you story.

We always talk (and put verdicts) about awesome graphics, gameplay, but not about the games mechanics and structure. Also hiding places are hard to see, and kind of dull.

Though i realy like the horizon universe, and i hope forbidden west will be better.
But i will not take any review site serious and wait for objective player review.

  7. I got this game from PS plus, and I recently started playing it so I can gather the story for the sequel. It’s a 9/10 for me👌🏽

  8. Aloy only had Rost to talk to for her first 19 years of existence. Imagine only having Rost, a soldier who doesn't crack jokes and is so serious about everything, raising you. No one else. It will make anyone feel "boring" Kassandra at least, was a misthios. Her job half the time is talking to other people. The forbidden west actually gives Aloy the chance to interact with different people and you can see her starting to talk more, chuckling more and having heartfelt dialogue. (I say chuckling as I still have not seen nor heard her laugh). Give her time with other people. She'll evolve eventually. Especially since she's about to interact with a child (Varl's kid)

  9. I got the complete edition for like 20$ or something several months ago. The whole robot dinosaur premise didn't really interest me. I upgraded my system to 12th gen w ddr5 & TUF rx 6800 oc and finally decided to boot the game for the first time. Its pretty darn fun even if the premise is a little less than palatable for me. Even so it's still much more engaging to me than cyberpunk and is WAY more optimized (WAY less buggy too).

  10. I bought the 'Complete' edition on PS5 last week for roughly $8. I didn't know much about the game cause I don't play open world games too much. It's lots of fun so far. The gameplay is a bit shallow but it's engaging, the story is good too. It definitely goes into the uncanny valley when it comes to facial animations though. Lots of bizarre looks, makes me think of Mass Effect: Andromeda, though not as disturbing. Best thing IMO is the story, hope it stays good throughout.

  11. I bought HZD last month from a second hand game store for £6!!!
I had heard good things before and it looked beautiful.
Wow what a brilliant purchase… the 2nd best game I’ve ever played behind the Witcher ( which only cost me £7.99 on special off) great game nothing like it for me. About to purchase Horizon: Forbidden West tomorrow and I can not wait… the story for this game is like a movie. 9.5/10!!

  12. It's worth playing if you skip most side quests. Extremely repetitive otherwise. The final quest is recommended levle 24 while the max levle is 60

  13. "I only play story mode"

10 seconds later: "The combat isn't my favorite part of the game"

If you haven't played this game on Normal or higher you haven't actually experienced any of the combat.

  14. Or you can be like me who abuses the slow mo abilities. Like you can jump and aim for bullet time and makes the harder fights easier. Still solid game. 8.8/10 from me.

  15. I first played it in Jan 2021 played a good 4 hours or more and didn't really get into it. I started playing it this week and OMG I'm so glad I did. Amazing story, game play ,etc. Awesome game

  16. I'm playing the complete edition on PC for the first time. Game is really beautiful at 4k, max graphics in HDR. Really enjoying it so far (I'm 20 hours in)

  17. i got it today lol cd version i had asked as bday gift full version frozen wild dlc etc

  18. This game sucks , you need to find a healing herb and eat it everytime you get hit kinda really is stupid

  19. I just finished playing this my first time through this morning on pc, it's one of my top five games of all time, very emotional heart tugging story line, love it

  20. recently started playing this game (bought it last year maybe?). Really enjoy the concept of a primal humanity against a futuristic enemy.

  21. Just starting to play this on ps5 and it looks so good looking forward to playing more

  22. Should I buy this game for my PC I currently running a Ryzen 5800X n 3080TI….planning to play it on my LG C1 Oled tv

  23. How well does it play on a PC with keyboard and mouse? worth getting a PC compatible console controller?
