Considering I’ve made a bunch of videos about them, I thought it would be interesting to look at what RGG Studio actually do to make their dynamic intros special. I mostly look at the visual effects applied for each game, but I also go a bit more in depth for some of them. Also SPOILERS.

Yeah I don’t look at Ishin Kiwami/Like a Dragon: Ishin but from what gameplay exists the intro styles are very similar to Yakuza: Like a Dragon but in black and white. Put it in the thumbnail though to show old vs new, y’know?

Unfortunately given what I’m covering I can’t avoid spoilers. So here are the timestamps:
Intro/Before Yakuza 3 0:00
Yakuza 3 1:35
Yakuza 4 3:35
Yakuza 5 4:10
Ishin! (2014) 4:52
Yakuza 0 7:10
Yakuza Kiwami 7:41
Yakuza 6 8:51
Yakuza Kiwami 2 10:29
Judgment (Lost Judgment/The Kaito Files too) 11:31
Actual Lost Judgment/The Kaito Files Footage 12:39
Yakuza: Like a Dragon 12:56
Conclusion 14:46
Outro (Spoilers for everything ever) 15:43

Certain games have the exact same visual style as each other, so there may be some overlap. The styles that exist are as follows:

Yakuza 3/4/5
Ishin/Yakuza 0/Kiwami 1
Yakuza 6/Kiwami 2
Judgment/Lost Judgment
Yakuza: Like a Dragon

If that ^ doesn’t make sense, you’ll see what I mean in the video.

Songs:
Yakuza Kiwami 2 – Rebellious Phase
Yakuza – Funk Goes On
Yakuza 3 – Fly
Persona 4 – The Almighty
Tekken 7 – Vermilion Gates
Ace Combat Zero – Zero
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Aionios’ Strongest (unofficial name but it’s a good one)
I promise you, Square Enix, that it is not Final Fantasy VII Remake – Infinity’s End. I swear.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon – Receive You The Hyperactive
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Quest Boss Theme (unofficial name)

  1. This video took a while to make. Not because I had any particular trouble with the editing, but because everything in the known universe wanted to interrupt my progress every day. Also ‘cause I had to get up to the final boss of Yakuza 3 again lol. Speaking of, the final boss of 3 I kinda have to show considering it’s the first dynamic intro so it is shown again during the Like a Dragon section.

  2. thanks for this vid. gave me inspiration to recreate a frame of the dynamic intros scenes in a 3d software i use called koikatsu party. (nsfw alert if ur interested)
    edited using photoshop

  3. I’m glad I played kiwami first, because while I enjoyed the game a lot, I didn’t love it, until I saw the Nishiki intro. It was so hype

  4. The ones that are at the final bosses are usually the best, only exception is Yakuza 7 because Kiryus fight intro is the best in Yakuza 7😊

  5. These intros are always some of my favorite parts about any game. Beautiful work here covering all of these! Really appreciate the mentions, you're always more than welcome to use any footage from me, man, don't feel bad about it ❤

  6. God DAMMIT, I got the Kaito Files spoiled FUCK, it’s okay tho, the video was banger

  7. FYI the font in the title cards in yakuza 3/4/5 remastered is edo sz but bold and italic

  8. 14:49 You don't have to call it the Like A Dragon series, because behold, we have the perfect acronym. THE LADS GAMES. (like a dragon series games. i feel a need to explain this because i'm worried people are as stupid as i am)

  9. i dont even care what people say, yakuza kiwami 2 and Y6 dynamic intros are the best (love the video btw, sadly had to stop watching when judgement started since i plan to play those in the future)

  10. Listen man, personally, I thought the "sex defenders" joke was very funny. I screenshotted it and sent it to many a discord server when I saw it.

  11. Yakuza 3 title font is the bold version of Edo Sz so its still the same font but a bit more THICC

  12. 13:54 Should be noted that the swirly transition is not actually present until Ichi gets the baseball bat. Heck that first battle also lampshades it REALLY HARD.

And speaking of Yakuza 7, can we talk about the "spotlight from heaven" people get to indicate when its their turn?
