GOING IN COMPLETELY BLIND!! HORIZON ZERO DAWN BLIND PLAYTHROUGH – PART 22

We beat Dervahl in a boss fight and defend Meridian. King Avad is trying to butter me up as a rebound too, lovely.
I know next to nothing about Horizon Zero Dawn, it’s a complete blind playthrough and it will be followed up with the sequel Horizon Forbidden West.

ABOUT HORIZON ZERO DAWN:
Earth is ours no more.
In an era where Machines roam the land and mankind is no longer the dominant species, a young hunter named Aloy embarks on a journey to discover her destiny.

In a lush, post-apocalyptic world where nature has reclaimed the ruins of a forgotten civilization, pockets of humanity live on in primitive hunter-gatherer tribes. Their dominion over the new wilderness has been usurped by the Machines – fearsome mechanical creatures of unknown origin.

  1. Would you become Avad's rebound? Don't forget to leave a LIKE or comment! That would honestly really brighten my day, last week has been rough.

  2. Well done today. I especially like how you are doing on the collectibles and side activities. Don't forget to look at the vistas when you do the codex episode Also, there are still quite a few side and errand quests you can take on that have become available that you haven't done yet. Remember, whenever you do finally visit Maker's End, you may want to start reading the datapoints you acquire as you get them. I know I've said it before but its a point that should be reiterated. Seriously, you are about to get a big lore dump starting at Maker's End and continuing on through all the subsequent Main missions. Collateral is where you'll see Olin again. Good luck and keep being as thorough in your exploration! If you continue at this rate, you will complete every possible side quest, errand, and activity in the game. Oh and try to stay positive in the Hunting Grounds. You'll lick them eventually!

  3. Cool to get a couple of missions in the one episode. Good job new camera A wee visit to Rost's grave would be nice.

  4. You still seem to have the quest in pitchcliff.
Aperantly the glinthawks went away when you came and came back after you left.

  5. You actually could shoot off the restraints on those machines, so you had the right idea. You just needed to shoot the clamps on the machines rather than the chains and anchors.

  6. It's cool to see you getting further into the story, getting to know the NPCs, etc… It's such a great game. So much lies ahead.

  7. Bit of a tip that works for me… Sell all the blue and green modifications. Keep the purple ones until you've fully modified your weapons and outfits. Also I would sell a lot of the resources you don't use like machine hearts and lenses. If you craft weapons pouches for larger capacity you will need some resources though but mainly things like animal skins and bones. When you go into the resources and highlight an item, if it only useful for selling to merchants, sell it. You can't use it for crafting anyway so it's occupying a slot for nothing other than monitary value with a merchant.

  8. From here on you will get overloaded with main story lore and minds will be blown, the 3 major stories: Aloy's personal story, the story of the old world and of the current world will start to blend together, this is some phenomenal story writing! Can't wait to see you experience it all. 👍😋

  9. A couple of tips:
    1) There are skills that give you more materials from machines.
    2) Tearblast arrows are not for dealing damage. They're for removing parts.
    3) If you use explosive weapons (ie. bomb sling), it might just destroy the components. Same thing if you target the the components with damage arrows. That's probably why you're running low on Blaze, for example.

There's quite a bit of fiddly stuff like as I recall. You're getting pretty good at the combat, though 🙂

PS. Now that I'm writing a comment, might as well put down a word on the Lodge's challenges. Many of them are very unintuitive, and frankly stupid. The whole game is teaching you to approach machines with care and awe, but the timers on the challenge require a suicidal playstyle, not befitting a survivalist or a hunter. Sometimes they also require a bit of luck, because the machines don't always move in the most helpful way (ie. groups). So if you're having difficulties, just feel free to look for guides on Youtube. That's what I did, and still usually needed multiple attempts.

  10. This is all kinds of fun! Whenever there's danger, you can always count on Kim to bring it up a couple of levels up, laughing hard. Great episode!

  11. Love the new camera and so sorry you caught covid. Best wishes and even though you are not Avad's 1st love I don't think it is incorrect that you are his type. Oh and if you haven't seen it yet several of us have been advising you to read the text you find as you are going through "Maker's End" it really helps the story unfold.

  12. Hope you'll get better soon. This was fun and I loved that you didn't have to stop in the middle of a quest because of your camera. So glad you finally could get the new one.

  13. Corruption makes machines unable to distinguish between friend and foe, so they'll fight other machines. But if they know you're there and you're nearby, they'll still come after you. Best to corrupt machines from hiding, so they turn on each other instead of you.

You've been told already, but when you get to Maker's End, read the datapoints as you get them. A lot of the story is told through them and it won't hit the same if you save them for later.
