It's called an expansion pack and it's a must for games all the best games needed it like mario 64 Mario kart 64 time splitter golden eye all the best games I still actually have lol

It was actually a last minute bug fix for one of the levels that had a memory leak which would crash the game, it still happens but the extra RAM lets it last longer

My n64 was matte black never seen one that was green, my favorite game was vigilante 8
Man I didn’t know it increased the ram, but at least I got to play games like Donkey Kong 64 and Super Mario 64. Nice
