  1. Yeah, the game had launch issues but i wouldn't have given it the brutal reviews. It's a straight forward game, with a solid, simple, and relatable story that isn't looking to preach at you.

He started a new studio iirc. I'll be looking into his future endeavors.

  2. Man, studios would rather throw someone under the bus than actually stand by them for their view and opinions.

  3. maybe a release remaster could help with sales or probably if it had an expansion but a sequel is very unlikely

  4. I always had trouble with Days Gone crashing ranfomly on PS5, so I ended up selling my physical copy. It was fun when I played it, minus the hoardes. Those stank.

  5. I guess this means that days gone 2 will be Sony's wokiest (is that a word) game ever.

  6. Do they not realize this probably hurts them more than helps. Most people dont care for the woke shit or attitude so tossing the dude who spoke up about it under the bus is a real bad move, journalists will priase ya for it but the customers wont for the most part. Id be happier to support the "former" game director over supporting them if I had a choice. I absolutely loved Days Gone and really wanted a sequel but seeing this makes me doubt the game would be as good

  7. Bend Studio hasn't made anything since he left and I have a feeling when they finally do their virtue signaling will not save their garbage

  8. Days Gone is a very good game. I had a blast and did all the trophies ( which I rarely do)

  9. If there was ever a chance for Mr. Garvin to come back as director for a sequel of Days Gone, the developers completely threw it away. And really – is that so surprising?

  10. And yet they never mention the females who are many on this game that are strong independent… Hell one runs a camp, another is a Engineer, Another is a Doctor… But yea let's glance over all of them!

  11. Dude they hated days gone because there were no LGBTQ characters and the MC was a cis gender white male.

  12. I really liked this game the only problem I had with it is I ran into an audio glitch.

  13. I don’t get it. He’s not wrong. The quote ‘ride me like you ride your bike’ came up a lot as well, which was taken out of context as it’s Sarah who says he better not say something stupid like that at their wedding when he proposes, and then SHE says it as a joke during their vows. And the ass thing was just another throwaway flirty joke between them and only a one time thing.

This article doesn’t even mention the most hilarious one, the infamous article complaining that ‘there aren’t any black zombies’, despite the game explaining that the virus diminishes pigment as it progresses, and you know of the zombies were black they would have also complained about that.

And this is a game that had an interracial lesbian couple as two of the main side characters, and the General, who becomes the games antagonist, is a religious zealot that goes out of his way, even breaking stereotype, to deliver a speech where he says even if people are gay, straight, black, white, brown, or transgender and so on, they are all created in God’s image and welcome at his camp. He just hated murderers, thieves, and liars. So even with the game almost going out of it’s way to appease these types, they still couldn’t handle it. The game and the character is not dissimilar to Joel or Arthur in Last of Us or Red Dead, and Red Dead also has a slow ass opening hours which was another complaint. Skillup did a great comparison in his defense of Days Gone video.

The whole thing was weird. IGN notoriously got heat for their 5/10, and even clapped back at players who pointed out how stupid that review was and they doubled down. The word of mouth on that game is exceptional, and even I avoided it because of reviews only to play it 18 months later and loved it, and it is the game I can point to that made me stop trusting reviews completely. And those reviews are why we’re not getting a sequel either. Critics can barely agree with each other, nevermind players, and constantly thow these weird politics into their reviews. People should always trust their own instinct on things they think they might like, and don’t even give reviewers the time of day. Shame Bend threw him under the bus. And I probably won’t be supporting their next project as a result now. He wasn’t wrong to question these things or the motives of woke reviewers. Especially the black zombie thing. Like come on what is this.

  14. Vara Dark just stumbled upon your channel and appreciate your honest opinion on the topic. I look at it like this, don't have to get fully invested in the story or the characters more as I'm having fun, all that matters

  15. I think the developers of dying light 2 did this with Chris Avelone, only they threw him under during development, which ended up with the game being mediocre

  16. If they don't bring back the old director for the sequel im not buying it as the old director is a legend for not going woke and calling the woke journalists out, shame on bend studios for taking the cowards stance and throwing him under the bus smh

  17. This guy should team up with the guy from Tripwire (Maneater) who got canceled for saying "not everyone has the same opinion on abortion". They can build a dev studio full of anti-woke individuals solely interested in making fun quality games.

  18. Days Gone isn't getting a sequel. Sony is fucking awful when it comes to actually doing anything with a lot of their IPs.

  19. Wow, ONE whole preview that mentioned the protagonist's demographics (and didn't bring up sexuality at all). I guess that one example was so damning you brought it up twice instead of looking for another one. AND that preview ended with positive impressions. Geez, poor Garvin, I don't know how he held up under the armies of wokeness when that one person said they liked his game and also mentioned a white main character.

  20. The way John Garvin and Jeff Ross found out these journalists didn't play all the way through Days Gone is by looking at their trophys. While at Sony Bend they were able to track trophy data of reviewers to see if they actually unlocked the ending trophy. And nope! Non of the reviewers they checked actually unlocked the ending trophy. So they didn't finish the game. Yet they reviewed it and gave a score.

  21. Days Gone was so boring and completely unremarkable. I'm glad its not getting a sequel

  22. So this company, Bend Studio, is basically X-Play'ing themselves?

Thank you for this here video.

  23. It's always a relief when people reveal that they aren't worth supporting. It looks like the director was the only member of that studio that was worth anything. It makes sense why the game came out buggy, seeing what the dev studio is like.

  24. ya i got this a couple months after it came out on pc and had good time with it (patches had fixed most issues by then), and ALOT of the reviews at the time once again brought out the bitching about Straight White Males

  25. So they're "Bend the Knee Studio", huh? I will never spend money on any of their products.

  26. Days Gone is a great game. Any "reviewer" who actually takes their job seriously should maybe actually play, or listen to, or watch, or use whatever they are supposed to be reviewing. All of these "I'm so offended!" A-Holes can eat a dick.
    Was that woke enough?
