  1. Remastering this game would be a delight… sadly this game has already been milked and remastered a few times already back in 2000-2010

  2. If you told me this was footage from an upcoming anime series I would believe you.

Hell, It doesn't even look like it had to be heavily compressed in order to fit in the disk… Very impressive.

  3. Really wish Bandai-Namco would remake or otherwise make available globally this game and the other earlier ones that aren't available. This one is easily my favorite of the franchise and I would absolutely love if it got a remake along the lines of Resident Evil 2.

  4. This may be bad Idea, but I wouldn't mind this classic of a game getting the remake treatment it deserves

  6. Goddamn I love this game. This is my teenagehood. I first played this on SNES emulator with a ROM translated in french, my native language. I fell in love with this game right away despite its awkward feeling system when you're going blind into the game. It didin't take long before I levelled up enough to really start taking this sytem to my advantage and it instantly became my favorite JRPG. Then I purchased the GBA version since it was the only officially translated "modern" version of the game available to me. I 100%'d it even though it was extremelly subpar, then a few years later, when I was 19, I installed the translation patch on the PSX ROM and finally got to play this version. I was blown away by the reimagined opening, the bonus skits, the voice acted cutscenes, the extra content, bosses, items, sidequests, characters, areas, the revamped battle system, the graphics and recomposed soundtrack. This, in my book, is the shining example of what a true remaster should be.

  7. seriously, This feels like one of those songs that you would remember forever. like a really classic 90s song that you would expect to everyone to know.

  8. The fact that they had a version of this song on the SNES version, complete with vocals, … is pretty amazing. Talk about squeezing the last drop of an amazing console that aged beautifully. Fun to hear it without the severe compression though.

  9. Doing a playthrough right now. First time I am playing a Tales game. So, I decided to start with the first one.

  10. My first time playing the SFC Top my jaw just dropped at the idea an SNES game had a full song complete with vocals. Now I get nostalgic whenever I hear it.

  11. Not gonna lie, a part of me kinda prefers the SNES version of this opening. Don’t get me wrong the animation is great but something about the SNES version just oozes with so much charm. And the fact that it was capable of having actual vocals despite the hardware was amazing

  12. Wow, that arrangement and mix is absolutely fantastic. I miss those natural vocals with uncorrected pitch and minimal compression over a full wide mix with some room for dynamics. And what a fat guitar. I think it's an amp mic and an out being panned wide, and when it kicked in with the little minor lift over strings I got goosebumps. And the animation is similarly on another freakin' level.

  13. I was only able to play this game once, but it has since captured my imagination and never let go. Simply a beautiful game.
