11:58 a mixture of game journalists and the fans overblowing it's difficulty, DS1 is laughably easy when you consider you can get one of the best armor sets in the game basically immediately upon starting

You can absolutely get ripostes off a parry with the greatscythe, you just need to get the timing down. It actually requires a slight pause after two-handing the weapon; for some reason the game doesn't consider an attack input eligible to cause a riposte if the input is buffered, and you can buffer attack inputs during the animation to two-hand a weapon.

The Great Scythe is actually considered one of the best PvE weapons in Dark Souls 1. Incredible reach, decent damage and bleed is a deadly combination.

Ok so my friends and co-workers call me Cat: this is just a side note, real message below.
A feline will eat your head if you drop dead and it runs out of food, a bear on the other hand if raised from a cub would rather starve to death than eat the corpse of the person it sees as kin. Yes a bear, an animal known for eating creature alive has more respect for they’re dead perceived kin than a house cat.

This run was honestly a little surprising, yet again dark souls 1 builds can get really goofy, especially during challenge runs

Were people seriously sleeping on this? The Great Scythe is basically my DS1 go-to for dex builds, it's almost broken its so good 👌
I never knew about the double sanctuary guardians until watching this even though I have played this game probably 100s of times since 2012
The great scythe + uchigatana have always been my 2 weapons for dex builds. Scythe handles the big enemies and uchi in narrow spaces or when I need faster attacks with less recovery frames. Glad you are doing a video on it!
