I don't think sparing Abby was the worst ending. Ellie didn't kill Abby because then she would be the monster. Abby killed Joel out of revenge leaving Ellie all alone and taking a parental figure from her. Ellie would have done the same thing as Abby. If she killed Abby out of revenge she would have left Lev all alone without a parental figure. Its the same thing Abby did to Ellie. Ellie not killing Abby was better closure than killing Abby

They should have let the players choose if they wanted to kill Abby or not. I totally understand why she didn’t and would have chosen that the first time if given the chance. But I loved Joel so I would also love to see her kill Abby

Abby still won honestly. She found someone new to care for, was able to move on, was able to forgive herself, and has a somewhat positive future ahead of her.
Meanwhile Ellie is stuck with PTSD, massive guilt, lost Joel, is estranged from Dina, is estranged from JJ, and is estranged from Tommy, lead to Tommy getting crippled, lost Jesse, lost two of her fingers, lost her farmhouse home life, lost her horse, and still wasn’t able to get her revenge on Abby.

I love seeing people complain thag Ellie didny kill Abby. Survivors guilt is real and aweful man. Abby has to live knowing that her friends would be alive if she had shown Joel mercy.
