I will forever praise them for how they did joels death. They didnt give him some happy sunset death. They gave him a realistic and grueling death. The most realistic way u would die in that world, especially when its someone like joel who has crossed so many. It felt so unnexpected because thats how death really is, not to mention it fueled ellies anger that much more because she wasnt able to forgive joel before he died.

I still say this game was poorly written. Jesse was a wasted character who was with us for like one big moment then died and Joel should have been killed at the end to really get us down

I feel like Ellie never wanted to get Abby cuz she took Joel but Ellie’s chance to ever forgive him. What makes me feel like this is the flashback just before Ellie killed Abby. I’d then truly understand Ellie why she needed to leave, why she had to confront her.
For all the hate the story got, just shows how powerful it really was to kick up such a fuss and still be talked about years later
