I Played Horizon Zero Dawn For The First Time Ever in 2024.

I have spent over 25 hours fully immersed in the world of Horizon. The story and narrative is very climactic, the graphics feel like it is from 2024. and not 2017. and the whole world and ambiance just works perfectly in unison.

    I remember after Breath of the Wild being somewhat disappointing for me in 2017, when I got a gaming pc a few years later and found this game, it really reminded me of BotW, except it was so much more fun, and completely fixed almost all the problems I had had with BotW.

    The world feels much more real and lived in, more believably post apocalyptic, and the stealth and combat was much more varied and interesting, with more refined mechanics and better enemy variety. The story, music and overall visual experience of HZD were also much better.

    Despite having been really popular, I feel this game was quite underrated compared to BotW. It came out almost at the same time, but got so much less attention on it for some reason, despite obviously being so much better in almost every way my opinion.
    Not that BotW isn't great, I spent a lot more time in that game in total, but I feel like so much of that time was spent exploring, in a world that kinda just felt lifeless and empty. When everyone kept calling it the best game of all time, it really didn't measure up to the hype that people were building up for it. Horizon ZD honestly was the better game of 2017, and by far the best open world game I have played.
