Herbal salves are one of the easiest things to make. In this video, I’ll walk you through the process from start to finish, including how to make the infused oils you’ll need to make the salve.

You can find this recipe, and more, in my upcoming book that will be released in April 2018. Visit my website and subscribe to my enewsletter to be the first to know when it goes on pre-order!

  1. Fantastic! I am going to be making a comfrey salve and was trying to figure out a faster way to get the infused oil and I am going to use the oven method. Thank you so much!

  2. Does sunlight affect the extraction? In the past, extraction container was put in the dark (i have an herb instruction book from 1900) but i know through practice that most substances require a tweak from basic extraction rules. Does the sunlight extraction depend on the extract substrate, i.e. oil vs. Alcohol vs. Vinegar?

  3. AlhamduliLlah! ✨ Thank you so much for sharing. Struggling with eczema I was constantly thinking about using homemade salves but didn't know that the recipe is already available ❤️💐

  4. Thanks! I had no clue there was ways to speed up the process with an oven!

  5. Please help if you can! About 2 weeks ago I set a small mason jar in a cool dark place : full of Organic Coconut Oil and FRESH Purple Dead Nettle. I'm interested in making a skin care oil or salve, but I understand that dried is best – did I ruin it? Should I strain and press it before the 6 weeks? I don't want to waste it!

    Thank you!

  6. Great video thanks for sharing I'll try the oven method me being too impatient to wait a month lol. I did notice your ceramic oven top around the ring around the heat elements, did you know you can scrape with a sharp razor oven scraper it brings it back to new and won't damage your ceramic top. I was a little scared of damaging mine when someone told me how to do it but yeah it's a great neat way of getting that off. I leave mine warm a little washing detergent then scrape away.

  7. Nice video, I just don’t understand how everyone on YouTube calls it ‘Ca-len-jew-la’.. there’s no ‘j’, it’s ‘Ca-len-DU-la’. It’s a wonderful herb but people all pronounce it wrong for some reason. 🤷🏻‍♀️

  8. Why or how does infused oil differ from just making it fresh with essential oils?

  9. I've had unsuccessful attempts to find beeswax in any store I go to, please let me know where you have found beeswax, the Walmart in my town does not carry it

  10. Great vid. Inspired me to swotch it up abit i used infused nettle oil in higher concentrate and whipped it up in tallow body butter. But some vanilla essential oil in for scent
