  1. I got all excited when I saw the Upwade Power Strip especially because of the lack of outlets on ships BUT most/all ships don't allow powerstrips with surge protection. I wonder if Upwade makes one without it. I know it sounds counterintuitive but it's a "ship thing." 😞

  2. The phone cases look fantastic, but….the one for the Samsung S22 ultra doesn’t allow use of the stylus, and that’s the main reason to get this specific phone (versus a Galaxy w/o the stylus). Booo! The Kitsch bars look great.

  3. I will look into the Peak Design products. TFS. We have been travelling full time for just over 4 years. Most of that is in an RV. One thing that I find helpful is a charging stick. Sometimes you are out on a hike or on a long ferry and you just need to recharge your phone.

  4. I don’t have flat sunglasses or reading glasses but I do travel with pairs where I can slide the reading glasses between lenses and ear pieces and put in one small sunglasses case.

  5. I wish i had the power strip when i went to Switzerland a few years ago. The ONLY available outlet was mounted about 4 feet above the floor, and the cord on my cell phone charger was about 2.5 feet long. I had to move a chair under the outlet to put my phone on, otherwise it would have just dangled from the cord.

  6. I had thar surge protector. I used it many times then it over heated and stopped working. I have few electronics so i only need a couple of usb plugs. I have a 6 ft cord with dongles to charge my stuff.

  7. I’m very frugal with toiletries. Many are in the hotels or Airbnbs. Water can be bought at the destination. I reuse the bottle. Nora, your videos are always so helpful. Makes me rethink before I’m on my way. Vietnam this time.

  8. Even when traveling solely inside the US, I travel with a UK plug converter for planes. The universal power outlet that many planes have at the seat are often loose and stretched out. A UK plug is big and will stay in those outlets firmly while others fall out.

  9. I was resisting, but you may have sold me on the Peak Design phone system. Because I do a lot of motorbike tours in Vietnam, I always buy a Bandolier case and sling the strap across my body so I don’t drop it off the bike and down a mountain 😅 But it’s heavy and overkill for most other trips. PD might be my new solution. Also, as a Viewer Of A Certain Age, I love those tiny readers ❤

  10. Thank you, Nora for all of your travel tips. With your suggestions, I traveled 10 days in Europe with one carry-on and a back pack!! I had plenty of clothes and everything I needed. Here is a suggestion I have used to update all of my non-reader glasses is Stick-on reading lenses that can be used on glasses and sun glasses. Most all of the brands come in different strengths. I found them on Amazon!
    Safe travels everyone!!

  11. Thank you for the Thin Optics tip. I always carry my reading glasses in my pocket and have gone through many cases that will protect them, slide in and out easily, and not bulge too much. These look like I could carry reading and sun glasses easier than just one pair of readers.
    Great videos!

  12. Great tips! Am new to your channel and will definitely subscribe. Question; how do you pack the shampoo and conditioner bars??

  13. Nora, thanks for the tips. I like that you don’t try to pack for every emergency or scenario. I pack in a minimalist style and always bring a few ziplocks for lining a plane seat pocket or for either the trash I create or picking up trash i find. Happy Traveling!

  14. Group travel tip: if you regularly travel with a group or groups (family, SO, friends, whatever), its helpful for everyone to have a color of their own. For instance, my color is green. My spouse's is black. My sons is blue. As much of my camping and travel gear as possible has my color on it. If not possible, a bit of nail polish or colored duct tape works. That way, it's a lot easier to identify whose gear is whose. I started doing that in Girl Scouts 50 years ago. For instance, my travel backpack, daypack, messenger bag, cosmetic case, travel mug (loose tea), microfiber towel, silicone foldable mug and bowl or mess kit, etc, are all green

  15. I never go out without my teeny tiny collapsible umbrella – but I am British and it rains a lot in the UK.

  16. I’ve always traveled with extension cords because I can have those outlets up on the table and not have to bend down a lot. Also helps to avoid leaving something behind, plugged in on on the floor, that you’re charging before leaving the hotel.

  17. A power bank(external battery) for cellphone charging/top ups. First time I brought one with me on a recent Europe trip and I used it more than I expected.

  18. Hi Nora, I absolutely love your videos and have learned so much. (I’m in Melbourne Australia) But the sounds, music in the background is too loud, annoying and distracting. Otherwise, please keep making your really informative videos which I continually benefit from 😊

  19. 10:13 I had similar one but they took it from me when I was in Kuwait international Airport i didn't know why I even checked tsa.gov and they said it's fine so🤷‍♀️

  20. Just fyi – I just returned from Egypt and it is impossible to take more than 100 ml of water through gate security so no way to take water on the flight. Quite a pain as I like to stay hydrated on all flights. I haven’t run into this issue before anywhere in Europe or the UK or North America so not sure how many other countries do this but Egypt is very strict about it.

  21. Love your tips! For some reason, I find traveling with a small roll of light colored “painter’s tap”, a permanent marker, couple of empty ziplock bags & few good strong paper towel sheets always comes in handy. Also found those tiny “dry” towels that once wet expands and are great for make up removal, drying your face , etc. and can be reused.

  22. My #1 item is my mini umbrella from Muji. I bought it over 5 years ago! It's lightweight and flips right back to normal when the wind flips it inside out. I never leave home without it! And I've learned, it's crazy how many people don't actually carry an umbrella in their purse.

  23. I always travel with videos and books downloaded. Podcasts too. Also airline apps downloaded. I’m sure you’ve mentioned this before
! Thanks for all the great ideas!
