**** These opinions on DevaCurl products are my own and based on my own personal experience of losing half my hair since last summer.

I am sharing some of the most vulnerable pictures that I’ve ever shared on social media… my curly hair journey before and after photos. In this video I’m explaining why I stopped using devacurl. But doing it in the hopes that I’m gonna save some other woman from thinking she is going crazy. I have literally lost half of my curly hair in the last year. Not to mention so many other random symptoms that I am now stringing together to figure out….It’s THE PRODUCTS…
If you have curly hair or know someone who does, please watch this video right now AND THROW IT ALL AWAY immediately!!!!

  1. I'm not a curly hair girl or a devacurl user, but as someone who also suffered from hair loss, my heart goes out to all of you. I'm angry and devastated for everyone who is a victim of this company

  2. I was a Deva Curl user since 2013 and it always made my hair look great, until it made my hair look like crap!!! My hair also started to fall out in droves and break off tothe point that i had to cut off 8" of hair as i had, what i like to call, the confused look (half curly/half straight).

i've now resorted going back to sulfates because i want to clean the crap that has built up on my hair and scalp. I can honestly say that my hair hasn't felt this good in a long time!

  3. You are blonde, every bleaching reduces curl pattern 33% and every cell in your body changes every 7-10 years, including hair. As we age we lose hair. I am a stylist, and think something is up with Deva, but professional opinion, until I have solid proof. User error.

  4. You should post a video about your detox treatments and how you are trying to recover

  5. I am keeping my eye on this DevaCurl issue… I have curly hair (much like yours but dark). I have never used a DevaCurl product – however, I am having the exact same issues with my hair as you are. It's getting shorter, falling out and I have no side hair. I have to pull it back everyday. I am also post M and had a random period this past summer. Having other autoimmune like issues as well but all the blood tests and scans have come back negative. Question… have you had your gallbladder removed?

  6. How many of you that are having these issues are plopping? Could this be an issue of products leaching into our scalp/skin? Again – I've never used DC but I am having the same issues.

  7. My heart goes out to every single woman affected by this. While I never used DC I'm still shook. Also, had a sketchy experience with Killer Curls and Brutal Bounce shampoo and 4 way conditioner by Mane Choice. Within 2 uses I had absolutely horrid flakes and insane itch. It's literally scary nowdays choosing haircare products. It should never affect our health. Are these companies going to be financially responsible for long term care and treatment?? Probably not but they should be…Sorry for the rambling rant…

  8. I used half bottle each of the low poo and the conditioner and my scalp got really funky! I quit using the products about 3 months ago and my scalp is still messed up. Hair loss and thinning. People used to call my hair my "crowning glory." I miss it.

  9. I think somebody are getting there hair damage or hair loss is because of Sodium Hydroxide that an ingredient they use for relaxing they have in deva curl also there other hurt other harmful chemicals plus if you dye your hair and use deva curl it may fall out or damage you don’t get a perm or relaxer when you dye your hair it might get damage or fall out and also putting the deva curl in your every time is not good

  10. I feel so badly for everyone dealing with this. Your hair trick splitting it in the back makes me laugh a little bc I always have to do that. Your hair looks like mine now, I have damage from the sun and saltwater (ocean rescue) and can't imagine how bald I'd be if I'd used these products. I hope a recall happens and they are held accountable

  11. Why do we as women hate ourselves so much we pat $$$ for products that end up hurting us?? Why cant companies just give us a decent product?
Im using the old school stuff with sulfate and parabens and im ok with that.
Btw yes her hormones are going nuts ive been there, take care ladies.

  12. My hair will not stop falling out… 3 weeks of not using DevaCurl and I’m losing about 2 handfuls of hair every shower. I’m so devastated by this i only used DevaCurl for 2 months

  13. You are gorgeous and have striking eyes! I hope all grows back to your healthy normal soon. Thanks for sharing m. I had lesions years ago and also lost hair but thought it was me not the DC products. My hands though did itch like crazy and at night o guess my face would be infected but by sleeping patterns. Never touched the products again and am good.

  14. I dont know a whole lot about cury hair, but i have been using a local fruit-based scalp treatment that has worked nicely for me. Milagros tratamiento de frutas, if you can find it, because it is still a small brand outside of Colombia.

  15. Serious question here. I want to know if the people experiencing these issues included a cleansing routine to combat buildup.

  16. I have wavy/curly hair and I always wanted to buy it and never did because my hair is extremely long and thick and I go through a lot of conditioner and other hair products. So I buy cheaper brands and diva curl is not cheap. So I’m happy I never ended up splurging and getting it. Because my hair is extremely important, it’s just crazy how the hair product could make people’s hair fall and all these things.

  17. OMG, that is a NOTICEABLE difference! I am so sorry! I hope you are able to reverse the damage and regrow your hair! 🙁

  18. I used 3 DevaCurl products about 2 years ago and I didn’t have a problem with it. However, I would never try it again now. Shea Moisture and Mielle have been my holy grail along with Aphogee protein treatments every once in a while.

  19. You've developed TMJ? Did devacurl mess up your nerves to the point that you sleep with you mouth open now probably? Your faces looks longer from the before and after photos… Still a very pretty lady you take care of yourself and it shows

  20. Jennifer…As a woman and cosmetologist for over 40 years…My heart goes out to you. There is a vitamin "BIOTIN" very cheap, you can by at your local Walmarts, Meijers, etc…Use the highest mcg you can find.I have used myself and recommended to many clients .
Use the 10,000 mcg every day…It may take a month or so, but "new hairs will start to appear.
I "personally have never had any issues with hair loss.
But it can be caused by "medications, hormonal change(after a baby, surgery, etc.
Theres a condition…But unfortunately, "bad products such as the brand you are using….
My mom, had hair loss from "medication use….(pain pills) Anyway…After going to a "specialist", he told her "DO NOT WASTE your time on "Expensive" hair products that are "geared to support hair loss "no matter the cause"…The Main ingredient in these "hair loss products is "Biotin(vitamin) He told her to "JUST PURCHASE Biotin(vitamin".So much cheaper at available at local big box stores. At the time I was 40…and though I "had a ton of hair(not a thigh texture, normal) no grey yet…I thought"Why not give it a try…The only way to "help my hair clients….I have been taking Biotin 10,000 mcg for 28 YEARS now…My hair is "just as full as it was at age "40", I am "just STARTING to get "a few grey hairs around my temple area…I "personally believe…,my hair has "stayed young" due to taking Biotin" tablets every day.
That said…I have friends I recommended Biotin too…They "had hair breakage due to "over bleaching, perms, that "popular weight loss surgery"….All recovered their "once healthy hair".That being said…As a "hairdresser I advised against "HARSH chemical treatments such as bleaching and "over highliting…Eat your greens and protein and Avocados(ever see a Mexican women with "thin hair?"…I hope this helps you, as you are a good Christian woman, always helping others.Hang in their and "Gods blessing"…This too shall pass(I love "Bio;age products bt Matrix"…been using and recommending them for over 20 years…if someone out there can't afford this brand…use Pantene products….you will get thru this…

  21. Oh my gosh! My hair was falling out by handfuls and it has thinned in my temples. I didn’t use it very long though, I didn’t like how my hair felt with the product. I guess it is a good thing I stopped when I did! My hair finally stopped falling out but it never thickened back up at the temples. I am older, so just thought that was due to age. I still have the leftover products!

I feel so bad for you and all those with these problems. Someone should be made to take responsibility for this!

  22. Thank you thank you!!! I have it all and my curls are just falling out, flattening, loss so much hair at temples!! I could go on and on!!
What should I use to correct this ?

  23. i had similar issues for 8 years. thought it was all hormonal. coincidentally the same amount of years ive used sulfate free poo. Hair fall out , breakage etc. I've been a hairdresser since 1984, I never dreamed it was the sulfate free shampoos. I went back to reg. shampoo….problem solved. Literally, the nonsense stopped with the second shampooing with reg shampoo. It has been 8 months and my hair is gotten thicker and nearly back to normal. I think all the products curly girls use, they NEED sulfate (suds) to get rid of them. Otherwise, it sits there coating the hair and pores and causes the breakage and fallout. Just my experience.

  24. I really cannot tell that much of a difference..you still beutiful and your hair still pretty though so dont stress

  25. If DevaCurl uses sodium-hydroxide to mix the 'PH' ? That means their are hard-acids in the products; Right? Like 80's perm-salutation. The wethair (cortex) holds-on to the hard-acids. The hard-acids are dried into the cortex; Right? Add the build-up to the outside of the hairs. Wet again and repeat.

  26. Thanks for posting this. I almost bought some of this
