HAPPY VALENTINES’S DAY! Will you be mine?

Wanting things and needing things are two very different things. (That could be a line in a song!) Things are Fun, but we must be careful with our money and be sure we can use things. It was a heck of a lot of Fun getting these, but now not so much as I wonder about my splurge. Well, second thought I did use those Wet N Wild shadows to try out colors before I bought (and then didn’t buy because I knew they wouldn’t work). This would be even more of a Test if I were addicted to skincare as then there would be a definitive yes or no, it worked or not.

  1. LOL! We all do it! We're redoing the bathroom, and my husband has one box of things…me, well let's just say I have a "few", a few too many. The make-up I thought I had & what I discovered I have, shocking. And why? I'm afraid I'll never get to all that I have! But I keep getting the "new & improved"!

  2. # new year !! So funny I had to rethink my GOT TO HAVE IT'S also we are going on a vacation to Germany so I want more egg money to have when I go. And when I went through my stuff I had the same problems lol Just love ya on here and thinking of getting this face out there but my life is so all over the place my friends on FB say all the time you should start filing the posts you put on here they crack me up.But think it mite not be the same as written word 😉 anyways love ya again 🙂 here's to the Big thaw !!

  3. OMG Susan……you were cracking me up!!! I used (emphasis on used) to buy and had to have everything drugstore.  I still can't bring myself to spend $$ on high end, but I do have a few things!!!  I was laughing sooooo hard because everything you said is so true – we have to buy these things everyone has them.  I definitely am an addict, but I am able to control it now hahahaha  This is terrible but I quit watching the young girls and only watch ladies such as yourself who have been around the block and absolutely know what works.  I trust and value your opinion more than I do someone younger.  Anyway, hope you are doing well….I often think about you and how your back is doing since that is my profession.  I've just been lazy and haven't taken the time to ask.  HUGS Kim

  4. I so agree with you Susan! I just want it all because lets face it, its so dang pretty! I have finally realized that I really don't need it all. Less is more I guess at my ripe age of almost 48. I am now only allowing myself to get what I need when I am finished with the item. Going to use up all my stuff first. I am determined!

  5. Soooo funny!  Oh my gosh have I been there!  Thanks for sharing.  Love the "Had to have it!"  Now I'm gonna be saying that the rest of the day!  🙂  So nice to see grass.  We haven't seen any since November.  Anxiously awaiting spring.  🙂

  6. I'm on an eye shadow no buy this year.  I have too dang much eye shadow.  I know the feeling.  Then there is stuff you buy that doesn't work!  What the heck do you do with that stuff?

  7. Oh my God, I love you so, Susan. For me, all those nude lipsticks-what did you say, "Why don't you just out me in the coffin right now"? Heehee–yes! I kept watching videos and thinking, well, maybe THAT'S the one for me. But NONE of them are right for me. Hue, Freckletone, all those you talked about and more. I commend you for using up Syrup. Mine's in the drawer. And eyeshadows? I need 6 eyes on my face to use up the ones I have right now, if I never bought another. But they're like children–I love them all so much, don't make me choose! :) Fortunately for us, some of those had-to-haves work out. [Cue the angel choir] Ambient Powders, aaaaahhhhh….. Love, Linda 🙂

  8. It's all marketing, sweetie. We need to be way more sarcastic and skeptical. hahahaha! I was rollin' while I watched this! You are hilarious!  How's about that Ritual?

  9. Oh my gosh, do I resemble this!!!  There was a time when every stinkin thing someone mentioned I HAD to have.  Drove myself batty.  Then a couple months ago I got rid of it all because I never used it!!  INSANE.

  10. You just crack me up. You are a treasure.. Sadly I haven't figured out what looks good on me so there seem to be a lot of mis-steps. I guess better to do those on drugstore brands before I dip into Burberry etc..:)

  11. So true, but!… What on Earth would you think and do buy now if you hadn't bought what you HaD to have?! People always teach us to do things instead of regretting to pass up the chances! You see, we only can loose this fight, loool 😉

  12. I know what you mean Susan I just had to have it.  I would like to think I am pretty good as I have never had a designer product like Chanel, Dior, Tom Ford etc. and I am scared to get one cause I know I will love it.  My worst addictions are eyeshadow palettes and foundation oh and nail polish. 🙂  I hope you are having a great weekend. xo Carolyn

  13. Susan sweet lady….you had me slapping both knees and hollering all the way through this for it reminded it of me a few yrs back. And AMEN to the limited editions and teens and 20 yrs olds.  I gave up on buying anything over 20.00 and I buy from a dozen reputable eBay and Amazon sellers I've bought from for years.   For my perfumes I buy the tester bottles that are practically full bottles just minus the fancy caps.  For my naked palettes I got knock offs of them and I kid you not they are the same exact thing and wear all day long and cost me a whole .12.00 for the naked2 and 10.50 for the naked 1. I laugh to myself when ladies compliment me on my eye makeup…..wouldn't you???…..BUT one of these days what I am going to treat Myself to is some of your gorgeous delish soaps that sound Devine.  One I want right off the bat is the shalimar which is my all time favorite fragrance.  I can't wait till the weather gets nice where you live for I love it when you film out doors or when you are filming while you are planting your beautiful flowers.  I so much enjoy you and the ones about your mom's things were so special to me for it reminded me of myself when I went through my mama's things when she passed 12 yrs ago.   I still have her wind sing talc in its original plastic green And gold container in My lingerie drawer.   Each time I open it I smell her.   Sweet Memories.   Love Ya Susan all the way from Florida…ra

  14. Not thawing out here yet… its snowing again tonight… so over it!! Ugh!!  So true we are all a bunch of addicts enabling each other with the "have to have its!" LOL!!  Thanks for sharing… XOXO

  15. Morocco was my first Nars lippie. It's a terra cotta shade that has just enough brightness that it lifts my warm complexion without being over the top. Take a peek! And I'll check out Autumn Leaves!

  16. One thing wrong with this video.  You mentioned Kevyn Aucoin twice as something you always use.  I have nothing of his except the book he wrote.  Now because you said you do not need anything else but his… makes me "got to have it " and not sure even what it is??  Other than that GREAT video because it really made me realize even more than I did before how I get talked into things.  Big THANK YOU!!!

  17. I just used my Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer again…makes me feel bad that I bought many more foundations after it, and I don't think I need them when I already had such an awesome product 🙁 Oh btw, for lipsticks that don't work on your lips, have you tried using them as blushes or shadow bases?

  18. OMG u r so right……..just gotta have it:-( and I loved the nude lipsticks but Im with u, I looked dead. GREAT TOPIC <3

  19. Glad to hear that you are thawing out…luckily we don't suffer with that problem here in Phoenix.  Just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love watching you and your videos!

  20. I just found your channel, oh you are so right on!!! I've learned a lot about makeup on you tube , but it's hard to stay on track with a budget 😉

  21. Susan I agree with everything you said.  Everyone I watch is an enabler.  Especially when I'm feeling down in the dumps.  Lately I've been going nuts with lipsticks.  Like I need to add more to my huge collection! I'm loving dark red matte lipsticks.  I bought about 5 reds from different companies.  Thankfully they all didn't cost a fortune.  I was watching thebusybee or myhousewifelife.  Same person but different channels.  She was doing a haul & bought Tarte Butter lipsticks.  I immediately went to QVC online & ordered a set.  Cost with shipping almost $40.  I think there's 5 lipsticks.  I do like Tarte so I hope they're good.  I was channel surfing the other day & QVC came on with IT Cosmetics.  A one time only value was a blush & brush.  Love their brushes & it was a deeper shade, bought it! Why do we love what blondes wear? We don't look good in those shades.  But we still buy the same shades.  We're all just insane! Much love & hugs to you.  Loved this video.

  22. Susan you made me crack up!!! During Christmas I purchased 5 Z palettes and I've been depotting all my Lorac, WnW, MAC, NYX eyeshadows and blushes. I have two gallon sized ziplock bags of stuff I had to have but never use waiting for my sister and nieces to go through. I'm trying to be patient and swatch things before I purchase this year. xoxo Martha

  23. Wonderful video, thank you for sharing it and helping so many of us voice our makeup addicitons too.  This is going on my Favourites list and I'll try to remember to replay regularly when the 'wants' start to take hold.  (No Nars concealer for me till I use up the 2 other concealers already in the bathroom.)  Dying to know– but really, don't enable–where you got the Mac samples.  Loooove little teeny lipsticks, must be a nostalgia thing from when Mom would get the itty bitty Avon lipsticks.

  24. I SAW YOUR VID BECAUSE HOT AND FLASHY MENTIONED YOU AND I KNOW WE HAVE TO STICK TOGETER AS WOMEN OF A CERTAIN AGE. I JUST SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR AND YOU MIGHT GET A KICK OUT OF MY CHANNEL. TAKE CARE AND GREAT VIDEO

  25. Love this video! I was laughing so hard because that's how I ended up with the makeup I have!! I want the hourglass blushes but didn't want to pay that much but I have spent probably more than that on other things I really didn't need in the way of foundations. My daughter tells me all the time that I buy the same colors. But I say, I don't have this brand. I'm forcing myself into a no buy' . I find that funny to say because it probably won't happen!

  26. So glad to have found your channel.  I am a total drugstore girl but Had to Have It exists for me too.  I have to be careful as I am on a fixed income and that helps to keep me in check. lol  Hope you have a great day.  Hugs Jo

  27. You are so funny.  Sometimes a fixed income is a good thing, eh?  I can't wear nude lipstick, either.  I look sooooo dead.
