This video contains a paid product placement with Garnier.

It’s super cold out and it’s taking a toll on my skin, so i’ve updated my skincare routine to add a whole lot of hydration!

What skincare do you use if your skin needs a serious boost of hydration?

  1. As someone in PR, I am pretty surprised at the number of negative comments on this video. Estée has done the incredibly hard task of building a business from the ground up. Freelancers work way harder than the rest of us. When you’re self-employed, there’s little to no PTO, breaks or structured work days. While the rest of us are getting our beauty sleep and taking time off for Christmas, freelancers are working late into the night and through holidays. They hustle 24/7 in an effort to break through the noise and create content that is interesting and value added to the audience. Estée does that and does it consistently well. I personally admire that kind of drive and determination, especially in a woman. 🙌❤️ As far as the concern about products being gifted or sponsorships, this is her job, people. We all have jobs and things we do to provide food and shelter to ourselves and our families. You may think you notice more ads or sponsorships on this channel, but the only thing that’s actually changed is the visibility of the details of the contracts. They’ve been there the whole time, you likely just didn’t know it. This is how the whole PR and marketing world works. It thrives on product placement and as bloggers are becoming a more influential voice and members of the media, they are given more responsibility in product launches. This is nothing new. Cigarette companies used to include product placement contracts into Hollywood movies in the 1950s and 60s. Aston Martin has a long-standing contract with James Bond films. I could go on, but the list is endless. As someone with a PR degree I can tell you truly product placement is actually everywhere. When I was in college I remember being stunned at this peek behind the curtain. I felt tricked. The more I learned about this, the more I saw that yes, companies will try to buy the opinion and influence of influential people in the media and some people will take money from anyone. What I personally love about Estée is that she has not only good taste, but a strong conscience. She’s honest. I’ve seen her totally slam a product for being terrible. She also consistently works with companies that empower women and are kind to the planet. She’s one of the few A-list bloggers to talk about the importance of toxic-free skincare, which in the beauty industry is a bold, brave move. This is what we used to do: You’re sitting in your dentist’s office and you look through a magazine to see their list of top beauty products. Next time you’re at Target you pick one up and try it. What we do now in 2019: We Google “best cleanser” or “best under eye concealer,” and everything on the internet all over the world pops up. We make decisions based on trust. I’ve personally tried products because Estée recommended them and I loved them, so I keep watching her content and occasionally try new products. Over time, she earns my trust. Considering how much time, effort, knowledge and experience is required to bring this information to me on my phone on a train on the way to work, doesn’t she deserve to be compensated? Making a living and even being a boss babe is not a crime, people.

  2. it seems like you’re forcing yourself to be “enthusiastic.” really sad to see, especially when Ive been a subscriber for so many years.

  3. Enjoyed the video, Estee! I love when you introduce us to different skincare products. I prefer when you face the camera directly but this was kind of cool. I really like how you put the product name in the video. It helps to remember the product you used. Hope your bathroom finishes soon! 😀

  4. Give it a rest already if you don’t want to buy the product that she promotes then don’t that’s it, you don’t like AD’s don’t watch the video read the title and for God’s sake there’s one product amongst the routine sooo …

  5. Estee! Where are you? Blink twice if you're okay, because it doesn't seem like you are…

  6. I used to watch your videos and you’d recommend something like that gel foundation and I’d run out and buy it, and trust your opinion 100% don’t get me wrong I still love you, but there’s so many ads I’m not sure what you honestly use / love!

  7. People, are you serious? For years now this has been a job! Youtubers were always selling us a product and now that the world is changing laws are being made to change how they represent/sell a product to us now. Stop bashing youtubers for following laws, and stop acting like "everyone's so different now". Did you know that when you enter any retailer they are actually being paid to sell you things?! Did you know that when you go to a grocery store that corporate decides how the cereal is placed so that it's more enticing for you to buy?!? This is the world we live in. For god sakes go take a class in marketing, or simply get a job in retail and you will see how everything is in place to sell you something. This lady is the same person she has always been, and she's absolutely happy! Keep doing what you are doing sweetie.

  8. You’re so incredibly bored in this, i almost feel insulted that you think we’re supposed to be enjoying this

  9. Huge love to you Estée! I scrolled down to the comments expecting to see lots of enthusiasm and love but everyone is being so negative! I just want you to know that not everyone feels this way! I think this is a great and super informative video. I don't get why people are saying you are 'off' or not 'real'? You seem real enough to me! <3

  10. After reading all these negative comments, I was expecting to watch a really awful video, but I don’t see anything wrong?? I actually quite liked it! And Estée has had a long-standing partnership with Garnier so I think it’s not out of the ordinary that she talks about their new product? Idk, as long as the sponsorships are clearly disclosed to the viewers I guess idgaf🤷🏻‍♀️

  11. Estee – I just bought the Garnier milky micellar water and rose spray, and I have the Caudelie cleanser in my cart 🙌🏻 whenever I need a new product, I come see what you’re using. Haters gonna hate, but no one can deny your skin is GLOW GOALS ✨

Also, please don’t listen to the negativity – although I’m sure it’s discouraging. I can’t even imagine 😔I wonder if you can hire someone part time to moderate comments for you, to protect you from it?! Please take care of yourself and give yourself a hug from all of us who enjoy all of your videos 🤗

  12. Your skin is so lovely and glowy✨ always love a skincare routine and a peek into your bathroom cabinets. Can’t wait to see your finished bathroom🤗 xx

  13. To anyone watching this video PLEASE RINSE OR WASH OFF micellar water. It is not meant to be left on the skin. Ignore all the BS online. Micellar water is such a stupid marketing gimmick.

  14. just a little tip: try using oil BEFORE moisturizer 🙂 always go from thinnest to thickest consistency, moisturizer is to lock everything in so using oil before it will make sure the oil gets into deeper layers of your skin!!

  15. I love finding out what someone else uses, its always so interesting! And thanks for letting me know about the reusable pads.

  16. Do you use a day sunscreen ever? I am looking into incorporating one into my routine and wondering if you have any ideas??

  17. Where are the reusable cotton rounds you use in this video from? they look softer than the traditional reusable cotton rounds on the market
