  1. I got really mixed feeling about this ending. I was glad that everyone survived but the way they show it to us is just so unsatisfactory, it feels rushed. And also im not fan of The way they ended the chip plot. This one could more bittersweet. Great show overall, still not Kaiji level (if I can classified this type of anime) but overall good.

  2. Joe lost the fight but joe won a lot of struggles in his life.Joe have stop taking drugs, joe have fixed gym nowhere that was screwed by typhoon and finally joe gather all of his family back together.
It sure was short but meaningful

  3. Good ending, great ending even. Just not the perfect ending. I feel the same way as you, it lands but a bit awkwardly and not with the flourish it easily could have. When Nanbu's hand rested on Sachio's it nearly got me, but with the pacing this episode had, it never had time to settle nor did it gel with the other sequences in the episode, just leaving the emotional payoff of this episode similar to Chief's death. It's there, it's all there, it just doesn't close off or impact you as well as it should. This is why I was hoping that the end half or quarter of last week should've had the start of the fight, end it with Joe on the backfoot, bit of the politics, then go full swing next episode cover about half to just over half the episode, then have the same ending. Would've been a perfect finish point for this season. I feel while the stuff with Rosco and Sakuma is great, it tends to fill up too much time from what is essentially a character driven boxing story. The message is clear and meaningful, but it overshadows and intersects too much into what's happening in the ring and so the build up never truly gets it's time to sign off.

Overall this could've been a 9.0/10 but I gotta go with an 8.7, just doesn't quite stick the landing as cleanly as I feel it should've. Content of the ending was great, execution just a tad disappointing, but disregarding all of that, definitely a major improvement over last season, had me tearing up in places which never happened with S1. Build up, character development, it's all there, just needs to allow itself time to tie itself together at the end. Looking forward to a season 3 if that's in the cards

  4. The outcome was fine, their own conflicts were pretty much resolved on the last 2 weeks, it makes sense for both of them to not risk their lives over what´s basically a celebration to finally being able to go back to their families, makes sense after chief´s arc being about what is and isn´t worth putting yourself on the line. Sadly, it wasn´t as much of a celebration for the viewers, the fight itself was kinda disappointing, not as good animationwise as the Liu sparring session and also pretty short, i feel like they could´ve made the shirato segments they mixed in during the fight way shorter. You´d think opening the episode on the scoreboard being set to infinite rounds would mean the fight would be long, but I guess not. As far as sequels go, this is an alright world to tell stories in, but i feel like none of these characters really have enough to tell a story around them anymore, you´d have to bring in new people and have some of the old cast just sit in the back. Also during discussions of this show I did read several mentions of the movie Upgrade, guess I´ll be checking that out eventually

  5. I’m fine with this show ending like this, it wasn’t really about the fights but was about a broken man picking up the pieces and putting it back together

  6. they did something similar at the end of the rocky balboa (2006) movie but i wish it had even half the intensity and time given to it that the fight in that movie did, even though generally speaking the film wasn't amazing.

  7. I think it had a good ending but couldve been more in this last fight. Overall still really good but I think If they stretched the fight out for the whole episode and instead of doing the post fight scenes in this ep & ending scenes in the credits did those scenes in one more ep it would be even better. That BES villian going to prison in this ep was only 5 secs long lol. But still Alot better than s1 for sure.

  8. Still a "weaker" 9 for me. The pacing and timing definitely brings down both seasons but this one used it all as well as it could like you said. I do wish the fight was more intense and with all the flashbacks atleast 2 episodes. I really do like the ending even though it's an exact opposite of AnJ this season really did cement these as two different great stories. It definitely would've hit harder if it had just more time for the fight. When the halfway point came I was like already? And then I feel like it was done just as fast. I feel like I can't say much that isn't obvious about the flaws maybe even something more like Carlos v. OG Joe's fight ending just giving their all a bit more, smiling and shot for shot before Sachio threw in the towel. Landing was not stuck but everyone got off the plane safely lol.

Some great shots at the end with Sachio and Joe and that Team Nowhere photo and Nanbu even if credits were going. I was also gonna say I don't think Shirato and Joe have spoken at all this season until the end credits scene lol. Deserves a rewatch from s1 for sure at some point for sure. This has taken forever to write for not much to say but glad I got to watch along as this one came out. Glad that dweeb rosco weasel got exposed at least lol I feel like there won't be a s3 but I also thought the same after s1 I feel like the story is done here. I would hope for maybe an OVA.
Also I don't know why I always thought Chief's son was gonna get brought back up at some point or maybe just some familial connection especially with all the allusions to Mac or he'd recognize Chief's gear but I guess it's just all hummingbird symbolism. good show.

  9. Good ending don’t think it rushed just people just want perfect ending you and other

  10. I do really like the inversion of Ashita no Joe’s ending and really glad it didn’t go how I predicted (seeing the hummingbird on Chief’s gear snapping Mac out of Mac time). Also, the ending with Nanbu got me 😢. But yeah, fight could’ve gone a bit longer and the conclusion to the Shirato side of the plot was a bit rushed. 9.5 overall . Would’ve been a 10 if not for the last half of this episode
