In this excerpt from a Japanese TV program (aired on 17th December 2019), actor Takeru Satoh meets Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and director Hayao Miyazaki. This is the first time Miyazaki was filmed in the studio since his appearance in “Never-Ending Man – Hayao Miyazaki” in 2016.

  1. Reaching the end of his life, he wants to rest, then remembers "oh wait, there's cool stuff I haven't made yet. And when I'm gone it won't be made" :'(

  2. Hayao Miyazaki shaped everyone's childhood but if you dig deeper… He's an absent father to Goro Miyazaki

  3. Producer Suzuki jokingly said in another interview, "If he died in the middle of the movie, the movie would be a big hit. This is a race against time.

  4. Im watching this interview with Howl's Moving Castle in another tab and I just can't imagine not having this man in my life. All his movies have impacted me so much and the lives of those that enjoy his movies as well. I hope he continues to put his heart and soul into his project, and continues to love/work on his creations.

  5. the ticket of Ghibli museum is super cheap regarding to the prestige of the studio, reflect some great and humble ideas behind it

  6. Thinking that it might be his last piece of art, he surely want to give his very best on this project,
I hope you he can live a long life to finish the project.

  7. A lot of times I see Japanese people talking in a self depreciation manner, like: I'm worthless, my work is horrible, I apologize for this terrible work, I'm not worthy, etc. Dunno what the hell that working culture does to them.

  8. I wish the timings of the subtitles weren't off sync 🙁

  9. Please protect Miyazaki and please get him more screentime. He should have a show or something. He is fascinating.

  10. studio ponoc will make miyazaki proud, they're gonna take this to the next level

  11. Why the footage was horizontally flipped ? All the japanese characters on screen were mirrored.

  12. Could you please correct the placement of the subtitles? The timing seems to be off

  13. Well, whatever people says about diz mostly angry grandpa, his movie are gold, Wind rises frkn blew me: make your wishes come true, even if it will turn to dust… enjoy time with people you love, even if they will die soon. What a movie, de man lost his love and incredible planes.

  15. does anyone know the name which this interview is from? I'd love to find it to watch

  16. This man just don't know what "retirment" means. I am both happy and worried about this.

  17. I hope he always stays healthy and continues working whenever he likes 🥺💜

  18. The real reason I am making one minute of animation a month isn't because I am getting slower, it's that I can't see anything in this studio, it's so blurry.

  19. Awesome to see Miyazaki san and Suzuki san doing well. But they should've asked the virtuous actor Haruma Miura to interview them instead. Satoh has no morals and misogynistic

  20. What a legend. And Japanese people all look so good, no fatties, no drunks. What an amazing country.

  21. The release date for Hayao Miyazaki's new film is July 14, 2023. This is confirmed information.
