Nobunaga was infamous for giving some weird/offensive nicknames to those around him, Yasuke might be one of the few people lucky enough to have been given a decent name. Some theories say that Yasuke was given a name that was close to his original Mozambican name (because Nobunaga couldn’t really pronounce it right). Also, the average height for men in Sengoku era Japan was about 1.6m while Yasuke might’ve been about 1.83m, making him a literal giant to the masses.
Yasuke is a super interesting person. There hasn't been many adaptions of his story but guilty Gear has a version of yasuke named nagoriyuki. He's a vampire but he's still the African samurai in Japan, he's super badass as well.
There's an animation of him, in Netflix! Well, I can't tell if is an animated serie or an anime, bc I can't remember it very well… It's "Yasuke" on Netflix! 😊
Movie studios need to stop casting black actors to play well-established white characters just to try to appear inclusive. Hold your horses, I'm not railing against either black representation in media or inclusivity here. If Hollywood really wants to have representation and be inclusive, then instead of just casting a black actor as a white character they need to tell black stories like this one. I'd watch a movie about this guy in a heartbeat, are you kidding me? Is there anyone in this comment section who wouldn't watch a movie about this man's life? There are hundreds of incredible stories about/centered around black people, and they're just ignored in favor of The Hangover pt. 14, or Jurassic Galaxy, the soft reboot of a soft reboot. Yasuke, the Black Samurai – based on a true story. I bet that would absolutely dominate at the box office (and also severely upset white nationalists, which is always fun.)

Zoro got lost and fought him…. he was never seen again
What white colored pencils do you use? There so opaque!
The Japanese racism at the end is funny.
I'm proud that I knew about him before, he was a character in Nioh 2, where he indeed served Nobunaga as a mighty warrior.
Thank you for elevating black voices with your platform. This is how you do it!

Mappa could have done so much better
Which pencil are you using❤
this is what we should make movies on, original cool minorities, instead of changing the color of some characters, make original colores characters
Portuguese not Italian and Oda Nobunaga was already Shogun by this point no longer a Daimyo
It's a pencil or a colour that is using
My bro named his son
“Hes probably an animal.”
What.
The.
Hell..
………. Why would they say that
He was also a lot taller than the normal for japanese people at the time, some people thought he was a giant
Im still waiting for an epic movie on Yasuke, instead of black-washing Cleopatra.
