All inbred dogs have a chance at becoming neurotic and biting someone especially children. Not to mention hip displasia and the other physical problems associated.
Better off getting a mutt and training it well.
They are great dogs but they don't handle temperature extremes well. They freeze in the winter and can get over heated in the summer.
Most Bavarian breeds are top notch…

I have a 8 month Doberman I hit the lottery and found him on Craigslist. He has beeen the best dog I’ve ever had. Sooo smart attentive and loving also I might add the personality these dogs have is unmatched 10/10
My dog was a mix but mostly Doberman. She died 3 days ago and we are completely heart broken she was the best dog. The amount of time she would pin me down just to lick my face.

What is your opinion on a Doberman or a Belgian a Malinois being a service dog for someone who is deaf. I had a standard poodle with some training for this for 14 years, and now he’s gone, I am looking into a new dog to have some training to alert me to such things as alarm, and door etc. They would be my companion dog not a family dog. I’m in my 40s children grown.

Yeah my next door neighbor is chief of the cops in Richmond just retired from it but he was a doberman and he's SCARY that was his police dog

Just saw the biggest Doberman I have ever seen at my dog daycare, dude could just kill me in one bite but he was mostly a good boy.

They’re great. They don’t need mutilating to look more intimidating it’s cruel. Leave them as they were bred to look.
Sadly today the breed suffers serious heart issues on a grand scale. Doberman magazine claims that 80% of the breed is affected.

I have my first doberman puppy. Well, she is a mix. She's just over a year old now. She is a total sweetheart. She is starting to growl at certain strangers so I think that's a good thing. She is skittish and doesn't seem to like water. I wonder if that's normal for dobermans. Her body temperature seems to run higher than other dogs. When I take them to work with me, the dogs will swim in the lake to cool down but she only goes in a little bit. I always have to bring her back home at lunch. I don't know if I should push her more about the water or if she just wont ever like it. (I've only had labradors and a heeler before so they took to water very quickly.)
Until I figure it out, she will be my air conditioning princess.

haha i'm lying here with my maltese-chihuahua and my maltese-toy poodle… i got two love nuggets who don't do much other than demand cuddles and give cuddles! i love all dogs tho and have had big and small and medium my whole life.. the littles are great companion dogs since i have health issues. they're happy to lie in bed with me the weeks on end that i'm not able to get up.
I have one right but he is afraid of everything except cats 😂
We have one. Normal ears and tail. I am happy that the ban will be there in the usa as well coming january 2024
