This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

  1. Not the airline it once was. CEO Allan Joyce who by the way has LCC background has stripped it out over his tenure I only hope the new CEO will stop this practice and maybe even reverse it. Or is that just wishful thinking

  2. Flew this service from AKL-BNE in J. Fares on this route can be very cheap, starting from $530 AUD.

  3. My feelings about this airline has generated 2 distinct camps on my channel and airline frequent flyer forums. I grew up in Singapore where I'm used to flying top tiered airlines to everywhere, and QF was only used as a very last resort if we had to fly from Changi to LHR or OZ. They have such a bad rep for us in Singapore they were even referred to as "that racist airline" for a while in the late 80s. Fast forward, I now live in Australia and QF and their frequent flyer program has become entrenched in my daily life. We have no choice in OZ, because QF is on top of the food chain here. Vote with our wallets, but to where? We are embarrassed at the state of this airline. And that boxed meal, what the hell? When it was introduced in 2014, the marketing spiel was cringe worthy because it said it allowed to the crew to interact more with passengers. Their sad state of business class offerings creates quite the polarised reaction from 2 opposing camps too. Sure they're the best Australia has to offer, but fall extremely short compared to international competition. So in a way, I'm glad your bid did not go through, it would've been a waste of money. My last few videos were about how I feel about QF and their current state of affairs. Most agreed, but a few vocal opposing voices reached out to me personally and gave me a dressing down. 🤦

  4. I flew the exact plane from Mel-Del and was utterly disappointed. Especially because I have always flown SQ for my travels from Australia. On our return, it was worse, the flight delayed by 7 hours, rude and racist staff, 12 hours of flying overnight in these cramped seats when I’m like 5’11 weighing 98kgs with not much space at all. The food was mediocre and my daughter hated the experience, never to fly Qantas again for our long haul experiences. The movie choice was limited for Bollywood, as you mentioned only 4. Their website let me book extra leg room seats for approx $250 but later denied as kids weren’t allowed on exit seats. Q: why let the passengers book in the first place when you are pax details? Nah! They put the blame on pax for not reading and no refunds as well !!

  5. When i fly between Australia/New Zealand/Asia i always seek an economy seat with any other airline other than Qantas. Have been disappointed so many times with mainly cabin service and in-flight facilities.

  6. Hi Kevin, thanks for your videos. I am currently in BKK visiting family having flown here on the Qantas A330 for the first time, it was ok I guess but I have finally come to the conclusion that it all depends on the cabin crew if the food is edible or not, a flight I had 12 months ago from Changi to AU on SIA was the worst I have ever experienced, terrible cabin crew, inedible food no drinks, (3 times the price pre covid too), the legroom problem is always a pain in economy. Thanks again for your reviews mate.

  7. The new CEO is from finance in the 80s so more of the same,I believe.
Shareholders want safe hands as they say but they need fresh ears and eyes to get back up higher on the pedestal and not have bonus worrying senior managers who seem scared to tell any high management the truth
Hope they used my money wisely

  8. Qantas is always hit and miss, in saying that as a platinum member who flies weekly.

Just regarding the seat leg room, Qantas a330-200 aren't exactly "long hall" the a330-300 are much better. 200 series are used for mainly domestic services which NZ to Aus basically is.

  9. Fantastic video! Why are there Chinese signboards in Auckland? Can you please review Emirates? Thank you very much for bringing back the airport stats. I really appreciate that you take your viewers' feedback to improve. I cannot think of any other channel doing it.

  10. Im in Melbourne right now, I had a surgery few days ago, Im feeling awful, can't wait to get well and start traveling again, your channel will help at the moment

  11. They use the A330-200 from Brisbane to LA non stop, can’t imagine how people survive that long in such a cramped cabin. Qantas used to care about their customers but now it’s just about profits, I suppose they have shareholders to please and company execs salaries are probably tied to profits as well

  12. Traveled many times on quantas. Always shit legroom.. I am 188cm. Always felt sorry for my traveling mate at 193 cm. We tried to avoid Quantas . Crap airline.

  13. Highly recommended to fly the Taiwanese carrier- China Airlines, as they also operate on AKL-BNE route, which is absolutely a great product on food, seat pitch etc.

  14. Qantas is not just low cost airline restrictive for carry on luggage .It treats its passengers especially premium passengers like a low cost airline . Onboard Service is lousy & Sydney lounge is terrible . We took the same flight earlier this year on A330 business class. The hard product was not too bad but the same product on B737 (SYD- AKL) was horrible. I would avoided Qantas whenever possible.

  15. It might be nitpicking, but your reviews are biased.

Yes, they are unsponsored, and they don't know you're on board, but your opinions and biases still impact your score.

Love every part of your videos except that line at the start because it's factually inaccurate.

  16. You stayed at the Park Hyatt
That’s hardly flip flop hotel space
Qantas is a poor airline now
    Price gouging it’s customers

  17. Splendid review,i have flew Qantas on a a350 a couple years back, but I do not remember what happened on that flight. If I did I would share lol thanks for the awesome review

  18. You have got this group of CEOs out there today that are obsessed with densification of these aircraft. That's why they are so jam-packed like sardine cans. Hopefully the next CEOs to come around will realize this and make seating a little more civilized.

  19. Thanks for the awesome video and review! Yeah, these A330s are showing their age. They are still (just) ok for domestic flights (QF uses these between Perth and East Coast), but sub-par for international. I flew on one to Singapore last year and it wasn't the best. Having said that, the crew are always amazing.
One last note – I'm really surprised that they were so strict with your cabin luggage! I've flown QF probably over 100 times, and have never had an issue with cabin luggage. Maybe it was the Auckland ground staff?
Anyway, thanks again! Looking forward to your next review.

  20. Great video as always.

    Six Senses Fort Barwara, Rajasthan?
Looking forward to your next India series!

  21. Good review, telling it -how it is, we won't travel Jetstar , if you think you're seat was small try Jetstar , food looked ordinary for an International flight, we think Air new Zealand is better-Philltheflyer

  22. The AKL A330 goes out to LAX later that night, that’s why it’s parked at the end of the terminal.

I wouldn’t like to be sat in that seat for 12 hours!

  23. Some of the comments denegrating Qantas are truly pissant childish. It is not perfect. But in comparison to many many other airlines they are very good. One thing I would like to correct you on; the collapse of Ansett was NOT a huge boon for Qantas. It was effectivly trying to serve all Australians flying domestically. Not doable. That said they managed to cope.

  24. Hi Kevin. Hope you had a nice time in Auckland despite hotel issues – no surprises there! You may be able to help me. I'm heading up to Vietnam next month for a couple of weeks. I'm flying Malaysian Airlines from Auckland to HCMC with a change of planes in KL. I'm flying Bus Class with the first leg being on an A330-200. I've flown Malaysian before and they're ok despite all the bad press. I did have an issue with the pod seating on my last trip – cant remember the aircraft though. I'm very tall so leg room is very important, I hate those little cubby holes you have to squeeze your feet into. Now I know seating configurations vary in Bus Class – even on the same plane so my question is can you recommend the best bus class seats on an A330-200 – especially an MAS one. Cheers

  25. I don’t fly anymore with Qantas ! That Arline lying to customer and cutting cost as much they can !

  26. Qantas is hit or miss. It's fleet is quite old, and it depends on the crew. Often if there's a problem, its all care taken but no responsibility accepted. Personally I prefer to fly a gulf carrier or SEAsian carrier out of Australia. Qantas is good and gets the job done.

  27. Just flew Sin- Bne A330 -200 on a red eye last week. Crew and service was impeccable and rather refreshing. The seat was so cramped for someone like me who is only 164cm tall. Seat width even worse considering what the flight costs. I stopped flying Qantas a long time ago becuase of poor service, poor food and rude staff but had to take this flight as it was booked and paid for by work. Thought that this time after some years, Qantas would have improved. Yes it has in a lot of ways, but still trying to squeeze in 450 passengers in an A330😩….wouldn't be surprised if the CEO and his accountants tried to squeeze in 1000 passengers in the economy section of their A380s🤣
