I have also had the classic multiple course meal, but I was not offered (gladly) whale tail.
I know it is your cultural heritage to eat that creature.
To most in USA it would be akin to saying I had a slice of elephant or rhino as an appetizer.
With the unlimited bounty the oceans afford your islands nation it is unfortunate young people still eat that.
The hunting processing at sea, eating whale is an unattractive cruel unnecessary part of your unique food cycle to Americans.
I am sure you can find noxious toxic aspects of Western food culture in response, but whales belong to all of the oceans.
