岩手県 浄土ヶ浜の日の出！ ( トドヶ崎 / 浪板海岸 ) / Sunrise at Jodogahama Beach ( Iwate, Japan )【日本の初日の出スポット！】 [ 4K ]

浄土ヶ浜は、岩手県宮古市にある海岸で、三陸海岸を代表する景勝地の1つです。約5千万年前に形成された岩塊によって、外海と隔てられた穏やかな入り江が形成されました。その入り江の景観は、荒々しくそそり立つ奇岩群と、穏やかで美しい砂浜の絶妙な対比を見せてくれます。

浄土ヶ浜の名称は、約300年前に霊鏡和尚がこの地を訪れ、「さながら極楽浄土のごとし」と賛嘆したことが由来です。浄土ヶ浜から拝む朝日は、苦難を癒す「希望の光」に見え、その神秘的な光景は、まさに極楽浄土を思わせます。

浄土ヶ浜はまた、環境省「快水浴場百選」の「特選」に選ばれ、「日本の渚百選」にも選定されています。さらに周辺の松林も素晴らしく、「白砂青松百選」や「かおり風景百選」にも選定されています。松の緑と岩肌の白、海の青とのコントラストが素晴らしく、まるで日本庭園のような、美しい景観が見られます。

トドヶ崎は、「本州最東端」の岬であり、浄土ヶ浜の南方にある重茂半島の先端です。断崖の上に立つトドヶ埼灯台は「日本の灯台50選」に選定されています。トドヶ崎には車道が開通しておらず、南方の姉吉から山道を約1時間ほど歩いて到達します。往復8kmの行程ですが、トドヶ崎の荒々しい断崖と灯台、そして太平洋の雄大な景色が見られます。
トドヶ崎は「日本の秘境百選」にも選ばれていて、トドヶ崎へ至る遊歩道は長丁場ですが、途中に大海原も望め、森林浴も満喫できます。

浪板海岸は、トドヶ崎の南方に位置する砂浜で、寄せる波はあっても返す波のない「片寄せ波」で有名でした。
東日本大震災で発生した大津波が浪板海岸にも押し寄せ、砂浜がえぐられ、海底の地形が変わってしまったため、今は「片寄せ波」が見られなくなっています。（※この動画の映像は震災前に収録したものです）
現在、「片寄せ波」の復元に向けて調査が実施されています

Jodogahama Beach is located in Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture, and is one of the most scenic spots along the Sanriku Coast. The rocks formed about 50 million years ago to create a calm cove that separates it from the open sea. The scenery of the cove is an exquisite contrast between the rugged and strange rocks and the calm and beautiful sandy beach.

The name “Jodogahama” comes from the praise of the monk Reikyo, who visited this place about 300 years ago and said, “It is just like the Gokuraku-Jodo (Pure Land of Paradise). The sunrise from Jodogahama looks like a “light of hope” that cures hardships, and the mysterious scene is truly reminiscent of the Pure Land of Paradise.

Jodogahama Beach has also been selected as one of the “100 Best Beaches for Swimming” by the Ministry of the Environment and as one of the “100 Best Beaches in Japan”. The surrounding pine forest is also wonderful and has been selected as one of the “100 best white sand and green pine trees” and “100 best scented landscapes”. The contrast between the green of the pine trees, the white of the rock surface, and the blue of the sea is wonderful, creating a beautiful landscape that looks like a Japanese garden.

Todogasaki is the “easternmost” cape of Honshu, and is the tip of the Shigemo Peninsula, south of Jodogahama. Todogasaki Lighthouse, which stands on a cliff, has been selected as one of the 50 best lighthouses in Japan. There is no road access to Todogasaki, so it takes about an hour’s walk along the mountain road from Aneyoshi in the south to get there. It is an 8km round trip, but you can see the rugged cliffs of Todogasaki, the lighthouse, and the magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean.
Todogasaki has been selected as one of the top 100 unexplored areas in Japan, and although the trail to Todogasaki is a long one, you can enjoy the view of the ocean and the forest on the way.

Namiita Beach is a sandy beach located south of Todogasaki, famous for its “Katayose Waves,” which are waves that come in but do not return.
The tsunami that hit Namiita Beach after the Great East Japan Earthquake gouged the beach and changed the topography of the ocean floor, so the “Katayose Waves” can no longer be seen. (*This video was recorded before the earthquake.)
Currently, a survey is being conducted to restore the “Katayose Waves”.
