Japan's Legendary Overnight Sleeper Train Hotel “Hokutosei” 😴🛏 寝台特急 B寝台 北斗星スクエア



I stayed at the overnight sleeper train hotel in Hokkaido, Japan (寝台列車 北斗星 北海道 日本). The name of the hotel is Hokutosei Square (北斗星スクエア).

“Hokutosei” is a legendary sleeper train in Japan that has already stopped running in 2015.
The sleeper train, which has been a dream of many railway fans, has been revived through crowdfunding. However, since maintenance costs money, the trains have deteriorated.
Therefore, in April 2022, it was newly opened as an accommodation facility. All accommodation fees are used for train maintenance.

It was a very valuable experience that is different from other capsule hotels and sleeper trains. I hope that historical Japanese sleeper trains will be preserved for a long time.

    Interesting hotel and reasonable prices👌By the way, on my Google map, this institution is designated as a Railway Museum (茂辺地 北 北星星), and not a hotel 🤔Think about it, you go to bed like this, and at night your wagon is stolen by railway pirates and in the morning you find yourself somewhere in the suburbs of Fukuoka😁

    ソロの階段が室内にある構造なので、ＪＲ北海道車輌ですね。
    ２４系自体年季の入った車両ゆえ劣化は避けられないでしょうけど、末永く利用出来る様に頑張ってほしいですね。

    僕も１ヶ月ほど前に泊まりました！…思ってたよりもずっと快適で、すごく愉しかったです😉👌
    雨が本降りだったので、トイレ行くのに少し難儀したくらいかな。

    あと、道南いさりび鉄道をうまく使えば、お隣の上磯駅から徒歩圏内に、みんな大好きな某コンビニやハンバーガーショップもあるので、食料調達も意外に便利ですしね…あぁ、また行きたくなってきた！😁

    こんにちは､確か､高校の修学旅行で長崎に行くのにブルートレインを学校で利用して行った覚えが有りますが､余り良く覚えがないのですが､帰りは､途中の駅で地震にあい､安全確認が終わるまで車内待機した覚えが有ります。

    私が子どもの頃、多くのブルートレインが走ってました。今思うと贅沢な旅行でしたね。北斗星は乗ることができなかったので泊まりに行ってみたいです。

    It only cost around 5500Yen?! It is cheaper then JR. It takes 6480Yen for the same room type when it was still running.

    客車寝台車は、利用した事がないけれど、いつも二階に泊まりました。荷物室があり暖かく、通路の足音が聞こえなくて快適でした

    7:02「日本の法律上、現在この部屋に泊まれません」とありますが、熊本の多良木にあるブルートレインは現在も個室が使えますが…逆に個室のみの利用になっている時もありました。
    「楽天トラベル」から予約が出来るようですが今年北海道に行った時は満室の日が多くて泊まるのは断念しました（泣）

    Some of the sleeper cars also ended up here in Malaysia and it was used for KTM’s Malayan Tiger Train service from JB Sentral to Tumpat in Kelantan, which took around 17 hours 30 minutes for the entire journey. Too bad it was terminated in 2013 and the sleeper cars are now stabled at Gemas railway station and the future of the cars are now unknown.

    i miss to work with this train in Malaysia. Its operational service from 2012-2014 (Night Train from JB Sentral to Tumpat), and i still can remember good the brake system, air bag system is.
